Hi, I'm new to the board and I love it! Reading everyone's posts has been so helpful, but I have a problem. I have dry, color-treated, shoulder length hair that I am growing out. It is unbelievably dry and curly/frizzy (mostly due to the very humid climate). And to make matters worse, I've noticed that the top is getting really thin--major hair loss to boot! I deep condition regularly and I haven't touched a dryer or curling iron in almost a year. I am now sleeping on a silky pillowcase but I still find knots in my hair. Most of the time it is just made up of one hair, but sometimes more. They are so tight the only way to get them out is to cut them--counter productive to growing out. I'm at a loss. Please help!TIAmonty
I have very thick/curly/frizzy hair and I recently bought some Artec textureline smoothing shampoo and conditioner, which I heard about here, and after the first week I couldn't believe how soft it has made my hair feel. It has also made it very easy to brush, even after a nights sleep. I ordered it from the Worldwide Beauty Store. You might try it. It's done wonders for me!
Its great to have you with us!!!Unfortunately I live in the south so I understand. I finally got my perm from 4 years ago completely off my head and although I use color (quite frequently since I'm in cosmetology school) it's actually reletively healthy. I have started using Wella Liquid Hair products wich I really like. The products have protiens and other ingredients that bond to the hair shaft and make it stronger. It also has left me with great body, shine, and texture. I don't know about many of the products like "Aveda?" I really only deal with Wella and Paul Mitchell at school. When you get out the knots try to take small sections starting at the nape of the neck and start detangling at the ends. Hope this helps. Angel O:)PS What part of the country do you live in?

Once she learned to deal with her without losing her mind, her hair started growing back.
