Hi Everybody!I know I've been kind of quiet lately. Things here have been very hectic. Between my work schedule, planning for my short trip to Nova Scotia in a few weeks, my brother coming home for a visit this weekend, and trying to finish building a doll house for a Christmas present I've been spread a bit thin. I've been here in lurk mode, though, and have enjoyed coming here and reading all the posts.Well due to my busy schedule I haven't had the time to spend on my hair as I usually do. And the weather here in NH can't decide whether it wants to be summer or fall. One day it is in the high 80's with 90% humidity the next day it is in the low 60's with no humidity. I was so busy this week that I didn't have time to apply my ever faithful friend (Aveda Beautifying Oil) before shampooing, and this is the first time in 6 months that I haven't used it. I also have some tiny hairs about 3 or 4 inches long that are growing out on the front of my hair that want to hang right in my eyes. With the combination of neglect, weather, and new hair growth, I guess you could say I am having a bad hair week. My hair is acting just like it did before I started using the B/O. I will never, ever, not take the time to use it again. But not all is bad. I received my hair jewelry from Raregems this week. Dawn, I just love all of them. The trip to Nova Scotia we are taking is on a ship, then we will be spending a few days in a car (sight seeing). The hair ties and Zuni bear sticks will be the perfect things to protect my hair from getting wind blown and being in the way. I've even been picking out what to pack by the colors of the ties and sticks. And I will have my 18 month old granddaughter this weekend. She never pulls on my hair, but she likes to hang on to it. Those adorable but sticky little hands can do some damage in a short time. I've found the best way to protect most of my hair, and stil let her hang on, is to braid it. So the hair ties will get a true workout this weekend. I can't wait to see all the new things you have planned. Thank you so much for designing these wonderful items.Whew...I've had a lot to say. I guess I should try not to be quiet for so long again...:-)Take care, everyone!Noreen

I need the Curessence formy long conditioning treatments with the hot towel. Ialso agree the oil is fantastic. I use it on our boat..it seemsto protect my hair against the sun. Plus with being in theheat, it does a great job of conditioning my coarse silverhairs. Soo nice to see you online again.. have fun wtih that baby granddaughter.. :-) Cher~

Hello Noreen,Have fun in Nova Scotia . Its a very beautiful part of Canada in which I haven't had the opportunity to visit. If ever you are traveling one day near my province I would love to have coffee with you Noreen!Diane> Hi Everybody!> I know I've been kind of quiet lately. Have fun in Nova Scotia, but be sure to keep your hair up or braided or something! I spent about a month split between there and P.E.I. the summer I was fifteen, and it was absolutely wonderful, but my hair was very unhappy. I was almost done growing out a bad perm, and had just gotten my hair to my shoulders, and it wouldn't stay braided because of the wind off the ocean. I finally got so sick of the tangles and damage that I had my mother cut it to my chin in the middle of the trip. It turned out to be a good thing, because it got rid of all the last bits of perm damage, but I wasn't happy at the time. I'm sure you wouldn't do that - I just wanted to warn you that you should expect to face some challenges with your hair.Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu

Ditto from me too about how nice it is to see you post Noreen! And I second Cher's wishes for a safe trip, you must be so excited!I'm so, so happy that you and the other gals are liking those hairties. Your hair is so very long you could wear two or three packs at once! In fact, that's often what I do especially when I'm in a rush, just slip six or eight ties in all down the length of your hair and you're good to go. I've even been known to braid it and then put in ties too if I need some serious control. Your hair would also look great with the modified French braid I told Cher about. Grab hair way up on your head like you were going to start a French braid only instead of dividing up the hair just insert a hairtie right there, then grab more hair and insert a couple more ties till you get to the base of your neck or a bit beyond. Its quick and easy and looks similar to a real French braid. I know those ties will do the job for you, they've been loyal to me for years. What a heartstring tugger its been for me to share with beautiful women who can truly appreciate the effort that goes into that hair jewelry. Its the essence of why I created it, very special hair deserves very special adornment. (Preferably something that really works too!) Thank you for your kind words!Enjoy your wonderful trip! Fall can be a great time to travel, no crowds, cooler weather, no bugs. Be safe.Very best wishes to all!Dawn

Thanks everyone for welcoming me back. It sure has been a rough couple of weeks. I think that my work schedule should be getting back to normal soon. The outside of the doll house is almost done (only the roof shingles and some trim left) and the inside shouldn't take me too long. We started this project last January, when we decided that we would like to do one for ourselves, but thought we should practice on one first before we attempted the one we want to do for ourselves. It is amazing just how intricate these things can get. But our first attempt is coming out pretty nicely and should make a nice gift for my oldest granddaughter. The trip to Nova Scotia also has been in the planning stages for quite a while. We wanted to do something fun for my mom, and since she had never been on a cruise nor out of the country before, we felt this might just be the ticket. I have customers in Nova Scotia and they are telling me the foliage should be at peak when we are there. I hope to get some great pictures and video. Hard to beleive that in less than a week we will be landing at Yarmouth and be on our way to Halifax. Now if we can just keep the hurricanes (or the remnants of them) away from our area.Well got to run. My little Alea will be here shortly and I have to child proof my house, and help my cats hide...:-)Take Care,Noreen> Welcome back and wow..what a trip to look> forward to!! Have a safe journey.
