I have long, blond (with lots of silver), baby fine hair which I have permed once a year for many years. The perms have always made it look much fuller and thicker but it has started looking frizzy and very dry. Do you think ARTec Texturline shampoo and conditioner will help my hair? I'd like to grow it out straight and just use jumbo rollers to get it looking fuller. What do you think??
If it helps...I have long blonde hair and I have been highlighting it for years. 4x a year with the cap method although I am giving it a rest and have not highlighted if since May of 1998.I found that I always need a moisturizing shampoo to combat the dryness and I have found it ARTec's Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner to be great...on my hair. I love the ARTec Kiwi but I find I can only use it about 3x a week since the Smoothing is much more moisturizing. I have also had great luck with Aveda's Shampure and Curessence conditioner for providing softness and moisture to highlighted, dry hair.If your hair is baby fine and not too dry you might actually enjoy the Aveda color shampoos alternated with the Aveda Shampure. I have a couple of friends with fine hair and the Aveda color shampoos "plump" the hair up quite a bit. The key is to determine how dry your hair is. If it is really dry you may need to get it remoisturized first before you use the color shampoos.Best wishes.KarenPS. You may want to read Keth'ryn's review of Aveda's Pure-Fume Brilliance on the front page of Hair Boutique. I have not tried it yet...but she does say it helps with moisture.> I have long, blond (with lots of silver), baby fine> hair which I have permed once a year for many years.> The perms have always made it look much fuller and> thicker but it has started looking frizzy and very> dry. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
Karen,Do you recommend products you have not personally tried? I am just curious.CindyPS. I have worked with Aveda for years and am vastly familiar with the personality of their shampoos. Re. the color shampoos, the Camomile would be the most bodyfying followed closely by Clove. The other three are more rich and moisturizing for courser or textured (curly) hair. Shampure is wonderfully conditioning and good (as they all are) for promoting growth. The essential oils the product is based with increases blood circulation and tones scalp muscle tissue. They're hard to beat. I'm very intrigued with why your hairstylist, Karen, would choose frost cap method to highlight your hair? I can't imagine why.
