Your hair sounds beautiful just the way it is. Don't get me wrong, I am all for freedom of hair and if you want to cut it, it's up to you, but you said that you didn't REALLY want to give up your hair. In my oppinion if you cut it it will be a recipe for regret. Maybe you just need to try some new styles. Get a book on braids and long hair dos. Go to a mall accesory store and get some new ties and barettes. Or splurge and get some of the beatiful Rare Jewels hair jewlery. Please don't cut your hair unless you are absolutly sure that it's what you want. Wait a few weeks to be positive. I hope this helps. - Johannah

I am trying to grow out my hair, which is the opposite of your problem, but, I agree with the last post. I LOVE styling guides....I buy too many of them, probably. Sometimes my stylist even buys my new ones from me, which gives me a discount off my cut (even though I haven't been to see her in four months..at all). I also scour the 'net, and have seen tons of do's. Try a search on "hairstyles" and see what you come up with. I've recently had a computer crash, so I lost all my favorite sites (except WWBS and this site, the names are easy)..otherwise I'd give you some names. Try Karen's link page for starters.

They have all the latest hairstyles in there. I decided I was going to keep my long hair for awhile and that magazine gave me the idea to try hot rollers. Maybe you just need to update by getting layers, razer the edges, trying hot rollers, etc to get some pizazz back. I would try that first before taking the plunge-I've done that before and then right back to growing it long and wishing I hadn't cut it again. Another idea I have done in the past is to go to the salon and take home a few of their books and photocopying the ones I liked and waited a few days before actually cutting my hair. There are some webistes also that show hairstyles. Hoped I helped you!
Hi, I'm interested in a new style. My hair has been the same for about 4-5 years (long, auburn, and straight, with bangs). I'm 27 and newly-married. I don't REALLY want to give up my hair, but it seems all I ever do with it anymore is wear it in a clippie, which in essence, is a short-hair look. I have gotten comments on how pretty it is, but I am just sick of doing nothing with it. I'm sort of an au natural girl, so I'm not going to perm it. But maybe a short cut? I loved Gwyneth Paltrow's short hair in Sliding Doors, but she's so thin and angular, maybe it won't look so hot on me? My sister-in-law is a Houston hairdresser, and I'm going up in 5 days...with plans to CUT IT OFF! Please advise, and if you think I should cut it short, then how do I tell her what I want (in case I don't have a picture).
