Karen:One thing you might try is conditioning the ends (or in the case of long hair, mine is hip length, I do the lower 1/2 of my hair) with jojoba oil. After washing and rinsing, put about a dime sized puddle of jojoba in your palm, rub palms together, and distribute through your hair. Rinse excess (if there is any) But leave it in/on your hair. Feels good. Good successRunningWild

Hi,A good rule of thumb is to use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to protect the hair is you are going to use hot styling tools. You can also help protect your hair with a good leave in conditioner like Aveda's Elixer or produts that are similar.Other tips...Never brush wet hair, use a cool/cold water rinse to seal the hair cuticle when possible, use a thick towel to blot the excess moisture out of the hair and never rub the hair shaft which can break it. Another good rule of thumb...hair is most fragile when wet.Best of luck to you.Karen> I am Pentecostal, and in our religion we don't cut our> hair, not even to trim. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)

I am Pentecostal, and in our religion we don't cut our hair, not even to trim. My hair is very long and I constantly use hot rollers, curling irons, and hair dryers, for styling. Is there any kind of special products or any tips y'all might have that would help strengthen my hair and prevent breakage or splitting???
