Sarah:Make sure the person doing your perm is experienced and cares about his/her reputation and about your hair (they amount to the same thing usually). Don't be in a hurry.VERY IMPORTANT: Don't let anyone hassle you into doing anything against your better judgement. You'll do fine.I did the above with mid-back hair about 10 years ago. (Not since) but it was a very good experience. Enjoy the perm!RunningWild

Hi, since your last perm (7 years ago) there have been a lot of advances in perms, . There are many on the market now that are much less harmful than they used to be (low thio, adding protein, etc.) Have a reputable stylist that knows what their doing give the perm to you, and go for it... > Hi. Hi. I have very straight, fine hair that falls past my shoulders. I am considering getting a perm. It is in very good condition right now, but lacks fullness and life. I am worried that getting a perm will dry out my hair and damage the shine that I have worked hard to get. Can anyone suggest a good condtioner, or other tips so I can get the most out of my perm? I am kind of scared to get it done- the last time I permed my hair was seven years ago, but with very good results. It will be a big change from the straight styles I have become used to- but I am ready for a change. Any comments or suggestions would be appriciated.
