QuoteReplyTopic: CONDITIONERS OR DETANGLERS FOR HAIR WEAVES Posted: January 12 2000 at 3:47am
This question is for any one out there that wears a hair weave ir extenstions. I have been wearing a weave that is sewn on to my own hair which is not braided for 6 years now. Not because my hair is damaged, only for the length. I have always wanted longer hair, but for some reason my hair seems to take so darn long to grow!! Thanks to this site as well as another, I have learned that Viviscal is available here in the states. Of course, I have ordered a bottle, simply because I am starting to get disenchanted with weaves andreally want my own hair. I'm desperate, so I'll try almost anything. My question is, my hair weaves get very dried out and always tangle up on me. This especially happens when I wash and condition it often. I have used practically everything but really haven/t found anything that works well. Does anyone know of a really good conditioner or detangler or maybe exactly what it is I should be using? My hair dresser has told me of many products but I haven't found anything that really works. It's human hair, because i can dye it or do anything to it, so I don't know why this seems to happen.Thank You For Any Responses.Michelle...

Hello Val,thanks for the Paul Mitchell tip, my mom uses that detangeler and she's very fond of it as well. She too wears hair extentsions for the same reason, extra length. My hair dresser who is a very dear friend of mine and who has been doing my hair for the past 6 years simply takes a couple of strands of my hair and sews the wefts of hair directly on to it. No braiding, hot glue, or anything that might damage my hair. That's why it's in good condition and I've never had hair loss due to the weave. However, I'm getting disenchanted with them for the simple fact that I want my own hair. It just takes so darn long to grow. That's why I jumped on the Viviscal band wagon after researching it for some time. Oh Lord please work for me like it has for so many others!!! One more question, I find that my extenstion hair gets very dried out when I condition a lot. Does this happen to you? I bought Suave's Daily Conditioner, which is very light and so far so good. I know, it's the cheap stuff, but hey, what ever works, right? That's another thing that drives me nuts, when it's dry like that, it tangles up even more. I hope I can kiss these weaves good bye soon.Hope I answered your question, sorry for droning on!!!Michelle...
