Hi Tammy! I have thin, oily hair too. I found that using common store-brand shampoos makes my hair even more fragile and limp. The best thing for my hair is using natural products. Right now I'm experimenting with home recepies using things like egg yolks, vinegar, honey, etc. A couple of posts down I just learned that avocado can be used as a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment that adds some body to the hair. As far as good shampoos that can be bought in stores, these are the ones I would suggest you try: Aveda Shampure (a very gentle shampoo that works nicely on fragile hair. Can be found in Aveda - concept salons), Nature's Gate Awapuhi Shampoo and Conditioner (for fine, limp hair. Can be found in health food stores.), and you can try Aubrey Organics products (too many to list, but they are the only brand that is completely natural with absolutely no chemicals, silicones, detergents, etc. These can be found in health food stores).Don't be afraid to condition your hair. As long as you use conditioner two - three inches down from the nape, not using it on the scalp, you should have no problems. One of the myths that is being thrown at us fine-oily-haired-ones, is that we can't condition our hair. That's not true because "dry" makes "fine" and "fragile" hair only weaker, since the hair looses elasticity, breaks, and forms split ends, looking even worst than before. So don't listen to those people. We have to make the best of our hair, keeping it healthy (egg yolk!) and shiny (vinegar!) :-) Use gentle products; beware of harmful ingredients in your products (such as sodium lauryl sulfate, and silicones- products ending in "one", such as dimethicone, benzanone, etc.) Good luck.PDP.S. Almost forgot. If you want to try an oil treatment, don't use olive oil. It's good for people with thick, dry hair. But for us, it's better to stick to jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil, or Aveda Beauty Composition oil...never using too much. For a leave-in treatment, two to three drops is enough (don't use it on the scalp...I found out the hard way! Ewww, greasy!)> Help!
