Hi,A curling iron with a medium to wider barrel would give you soft curls that are not overly tight. The key is to practice with how much hair to roll around the barrel and how long to leave the hair in the curling iron.Hot rollers that are medium to larger would work but you may want to roll the top part of your hair with larger rollers to give your hair smoothness at the crown and then use the medium rollers for the ends.Rag and pin curls work great BUT it is hard to get consistent results and you have to be willing to let the curls "do their own thing" so I would not recommend either rag curlers, hot dog curlers or pin curls as a viable option for what you want to accomplish.Be sure to use a good leave in conditioner especially on the ends if you use a curling iron to avoid damage to your hair and make sure your hair is completely dry before using either the curling iron or the curlers.Hope that helps.Best wishes,Karen> My hair is shoulder length and thick with a bit of> wave.> I want to achieve normal looking curls mostly in the> ends of my hair but can't seem to get it to look> right. Should I use a curling iron or rollers and what> kind of technique works best??ThanksRelated Link:Roller Styling Article
