does anyone know how to form dredlocks in "white people" hair? i have started them by sectioning my hair and twisting them, but they still aren't very tight. my hair is also naturally curly, so they have become pretty frizzy in the process. do you have any suggestions to get them tighter and prevent so much frizziness? also, they are becoming clumped at the roots. do you have any suggestions to prevent that as well? thanks.

ITS GREAT your DREADING! If you haven't yet found it go to DREADLOCKS.com. Their message board is the best out there for developing, feeding and caring for your crop of locs. You'll find real friendfolks who are going through they're own locing journeys with helpful experience and advice, customized for your peculiar head of curls. It is a real art form and the fact that you have real curly hair is a terrific starting point. Good luck. I'm a veteran locer and while it may be called a natural hairstyle , there is a good bit of upkeep and maintainence, even for mature locs like mine. But it is definitely worthwhile. The dreads are a intrinsic part of who I am and people view me - as I'm sure they will become for you.Kemel> does anyone know how to form dredlocks in "white> people" hair? i have started them by sectioning> my hair and twisting them, but they still aren't very> tight. my hair is also naturally curly, so they have> become pretty frizzy in the process. do you have any> suggestions to get them tighter and prevent so much> frizziness? also, they are becoming clumped at the> roots. do you have any suggestions to prevent that as> well? thanks.
