My suggestion is to have a terrific wig or a fall on hand. I love them and they come in the greatest styles. No more bad hair days!Sorry for the disaster....

I'm not a professional, but I had a similar experience. My hair was almost white on the ends, and not too light at the roots. My advice is to wait for the professional. I can't tell you what to do for the functions. A temporary color could prove disastrous since your ends are already so porous. Sorry I couldn't offer more help.Laura
I have been highlighting my own hair for several years. Last week I used a different highlighting formula on my hair and it turned out horrible. I have short hair and needed an allover lightening, so I did more than my roots. The bottom turned out very blonde while the roots didn't take at all. Now my roots and underside of my hair is dark blone (my natural color). I called Clairol and they suggested that I try Born Blone Toner in a Honey tone. I can't find this at any drug or department store in my area. I can't get an appointment with a hairdresser until next week and I have two functions to attend this weekend. Any Suggestions?
