My doctor has recommended that I start taking a daily multi-vitamin. I want one that includes ingredients that will help my hair become stronger. What nutrients should I look for?Renita
hiI originally posted this info for another person asking a similar question, so i just copied and pasted it again here. please see the marketplace on this web site for all details on cost, shipping, etc., if you are interested in ordering HF37:the vitamins you'll most often hear as promoting hair growth include: biotin, B-12,pantothenic acid, zinc. brewer's yeast is also sometimes used. While you can buy these items separately, I think for price and overall effectiveness, you're better off taking a pre-packaged multi-vitamin combo.Personally, I *really* like the HairFormula 37 formula that is available on this site, through their marketplace. Since taking them, my hair now grows more like 1/2 to 3/4" per month, and before it was only about 1/4" per month. The HF 37 formula consists of two bottles--step one and step two. Step One is a vitamin/mineral combination, with lots of niacin. Step Two is an amino acid complex (the building blocks of protein, and consequently, hair). Here's a listing of what HF 37 includes:STEP ONESilica Compound 60mgNiacin 70mgFolic Acid 800mcgVitamin B-12 12mcgBiotin 200mcgPantothenic Acid 200mgIodine 300mcgZinc 30mgManganese 10mgCholine 1000mgPABA 60mgSTEP TWO AMINO ACIDS:Inositol 250mgL-Isoleucine 200mgL-Leucine 320mgL-Lysine 400mgL-Methionine 240mgL-Phenylalanine 280mgL-Threonine 200mgL-Tryptophan 53mgL-Valine 280mgL-Aspartic Acid 240mgL-Serine 184mgL-Glutamic Acid 692mgL-Proline 328mgL-Glycine 84mgL-Alanine 104gL-Cystine 346mgL-Tyrosine 109mgL-Histidine 85mgL-Arginine 126mgI hope this info is helpful. I also take an amino acid complex tablet, biotin, horsetail, B-vitamin complex and kelp. These together have helped my hair grow and has made it become stronger with wonderful shine. Use a good line of hair products and you will have beautiful hair.

Thanks Silvie for all the H37 info.I started taking H37 one month ago. I ordered them from Karen here at Hair Boutique because I had problems with very dry hair that seemed not to grow at all. I emailed to Karen because I read about her use of H37 for her thyroid hair problems and how it helped her.I did not notice much change immediately but about 2 weeks into the program, my hair started getting softer and thicker. I don't know how fast it is making my hair grow, but my skin and hair feel great. I showed the H37 to my nutritionist at the gym and she was impressed and said it was a good combo.Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.Katie> hi> I originally posted this info for another person> asking a similar question, so i just copied and pasted> it again here. please see the marketplace on this web> site for all details on cost, shipping, etc., if you> are interested in ordering HF37:> the vitamins you'll most often hear as promoting hair> growth include: biotin, B-12,pantothenic acid, zinc.> brewer's yeast is also sometimes used. Hi, Renita! With your daily multivitamin/mineral formulation, try to find one which you take at least twice per day. This enables your body, and your hair, to have a constant flow of nutrients.**Vitamin A ( in the form of "pro-vitamin A'", which is natural beta carotene. This is good for your skin and nails, too. If you choose a multi with preformed Vitamin A, try to look for one which has about 5,000IU, along with an amount of beta carotene. The advantage of the beta carotene is that your body turns this into Vitamin A as needed, unless you have an underactive thyroid or certain other conditions. Too much preformed Vitamin A can actually cause hair loss, among other things.)**B Vitamins ( this would include B-1, B-2, Niacin/niacinamide B-3, Pantothenic Acid B-5, B-6, B-12, Choline, Inositol, PABA, Biotin, Folic Acid. All are excellent for the growth and condition of your hair.)**Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (rutin, hesperidin, and maybe quercitin)**Minerals, especially calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and silica (your body turns latter into silicon, the actual mineral and is usually derived from horsetail rather than silicon dioxide in the better formulas)If at all possible, try to get a formula which is vegetarian. Personally, I think your system absorbs them better. Also, consider formulas with some green super foods like spirulina, chlorella and wheat or barley grass. These foods are high in protein which your hair loves and have a well-balanced natural formulation of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Not to mention the other naturally occurring minerals like sulfur, which keeps hair strong, lustrous and growing.Bye for now,JadeMy doctor has recommended that I start taking a daily> multi-vitamin. > My doctor has recommended that I start taking a daily> multi-vitamin. I want one that includes ingredients> that will help my hair become stronger. What nutrients> should I look for?> RenitaI am a nurse and I recommend just taking a multi-vitamin with minerals. Alot of all of the other stuff "increase hair growth, etc" is just marketing gimmicks. Save your money. Get adequate amounts of protein, eat vegetables and drink plenty of water, also, exercise. Your hair will be as good as it can be; hair products with vitamins etc are out of my league, just remember there is a lot of hype out there.
