I have your hair type and I had a short hair cut when I was 12 or so. I really didn't like it at all-- it turned into a bushy blunt mushroom shape even though my hair wasn't very thick to begin with. My hair has the habit of being flat on the top and curlier on the bottom, so it didn't work for me. If your hair is uniformly curly, maybe you'd have better luck. Also, I had a heavier face back then, so it kind of accentuated my cheekiness. Maybe you ought to get a medium length long-layer hair cut. I have something similar and I like the shape and control I get from it. Or, if you still want a short hair do, get it cut gradually shorter over a few months so it won't be a shock once you get to your desired length.

ThanksMy hair is exactly what you have. My hair was to my shoulders and I had NEVER cut it short, until I finally got the guts to cut it just a little below my chin. I loved because it was enough to pull back if you are having a bad hair day. My hair seemed so much healthier. I cut mine shorter this summer, and now Iam trying to grow it past mu chin again. Take it a little at a time so you have some hair to play with, if you don't like it short. It's best if all one length. I say go for it!! Good Luck. Let me know if you go through with it.
I cut my curly/wavy/fine hair short a couple of years ago. It looked really good in dry weather (super cute wedge cut, tucked behind the ears) and really bad in humidity (it stuck out everywhere!) I cut it short when I lived in San Diego and regretted it when I moved to Alabama. Basically though you should look at your face shape and features to decide. Before I cut mine I wore my hair pulled back alot to get used to it.
Can someone with curly/wavy fine hair tell me if they have ever had it cut short and if so how did it look? I haven't had short hair since I was little and I want a new hair style! Thanks
