Just over a year ago, I made my daughter (10) a Renaissance costume for Halloween. On the pattern were fabric options for a "snood." I'd never heard of the word and neither had anyone else in the fabric store! The next time I was in the fabric store for a few notions that I'd forgotten for the costume, I was still talking about the "snood," and an elderly lady told us what it was! We chose some black and gold "fishnet" elastic-type fabric for it, and it looked *perfect* for the costume and held up her long hair beautifully! Just thought I'd share my experiences with a snood. :-)Jena
