I'm a 16/m, and I know absolutely nothing about hair (considering I'm a guy, thats not too bad). I gave into the whole 'brush it forward and push it up' style a litle while ago. Now my hair is getting a bit too long for that.
Girls, is the 'messy' look still in? Like, I know that it's still popular on guys, but would I just be another mindless drone if I fell into that too? Is there a better trend to be a part of?
My hair is brown, and rather thick. I'd be interested in any guy experience, or girl general knowledge of hairstyles. Any advise or pictures or anything. Please reply or email matt@forest.as

oh yeah, the messy look is WAY in fashion!
alot of girls (me for one) fall for the messy, ruffled up look.
let it scruff itself up and hopefully it will suit u.
but if, when it gets to the really cool and scruffy stage, u think it looks a bit stupid, then it obviously doesn't suit ur style. if u find, it doesn't suit u, then get it cut and styled back to the way it was before!!!
i hoped i helped u out, hun

Hey!
The the messy look is in! =) It's funny, most guys on my campus have either that style, or the "brushed forward & up" one. Either way you'll be in! Most important though, it has to suit YOU; it's one of those styles that kinda has matching clothes, if you know what I mean. If you feel comfortable with it, wear it.
Best wishes,
Catriona

Wow, thanks. I got my hair cut today, and it's looks great. I had to buy some clothes to go with it like you said, but it's all good.
My hair is dark brown, and I was thinking of dying it. Is there a color that goes with the messy look?
And finally, sideburns: yes/no?
Thanks for the help. :)

Hey Matt!
LOL - a colour to go with the messy look! Actually, all the guys I know with that look have brown hair; some have blond highlights. You might want to consider that. None of these guys I keep faithfully referring to have sideburns, sooo... that's your call =)
Anyway, I'm happy you've found the right look. Bet lots of $ went into styling products today!
Take care,
Catriona
