Does anyone know if micro rings will be a problem with the metal dectectors in an airport? I have to take my husband for a flight tomorrow and Id rather not have to explain to airport security what micro rings are and that Im really NOT hiding a bomb in my hair
My husband says he thinks their aluminum and shouldnt be a problem.
I've heard a few stories like that, but I don't think it'll be a problem either. I flew once with hairlocs (which are copper) and had no problems.
I think the metal detectors vary a bit from airport to airport. I have a piercing, and sometimes I get through the detectors with no problems, but other times, I've been stopped.
I think it depends how sensitive the metal detectors are. I have a client who was chosen for one of those more extensive searches where they pat you down and scan you with the metal detecting wand and her Eurolocs did set of the alarm in the wand.
The security agent was confused and asked my client if she had any metal plates in her head! She laughed when my client told her about the extensions.
