She's another top model who cut her long hair recently. On the cover of setember issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, she's sporting a layered style about shoulder lenght. I read that she will be on the cover of september US Vogue with a even shorter haircut (a bob style), but I can't find the picture.
I hope it's true about the shorter style, she's a very beautiful woman, the kind that become wonderful with short hair.
With no doubt there's a trend about cutting hair between top models. I heard that it's the present wish of fashion producers and magazine editores (is not coincidence the sucessive covers of US Vogue with Carmen Kass and Bridget Hall with shorter hair).
It's not true that Claudia Schiffer followed the trend, but she should, and also Cindy Crawford, Elle McPherson and Paulina Porizkova (IMO, the most beautiful woman in the world).

OK, you've gotta help me out here. Why do you think all of the mentioned supermodels SHOULD cut their hair short? Will you personally like them better? Are you more apt to buy something they are wearing? Is it your opinion that they look awful in long hair and that their success with long hair is just a fluke? Have you always hated them with long hair? Help me out here, please. When I read comments like yours, I'm floored. I've opened the door for you. Step inside.
Gord, maybe SHOULD is the wrong word. I just want them to cut their hair. Yes, I would personally like them better. I don't hide that I'm a short hair lover (though I don't want short hair for any woman). Of course I don“t hate them with long hair, I know that their success is not gratuitous and I don't think they are awful with long hair. Paulina is the most beautiful living woman for me and will always be in spite of always wear her hair long.
Anyway, my personal comment about these supermodels was only a part of my post. I wouldn't post a message only about my wishes cause I know it's not according to the purposes of the board. More important for everyone is the fact that there is a present trend of supermodels wear their hair shorter as we can see by Kate Moss, Carmen Kass and Bridget Hall. Talking about this, I want to ask you and everybody else: do you think it's really a trend or only a coincidence?
I think he means just what he said! He thinks they would look nice with shorter hair, unlike you and yours he doesn't think a women's hair makes hair purse fill with money! He thinks a woman can be pretty with many styles NOT just one! To bad that only lanky models have figured out that long hair parted in the middle ironed to their heads is the key to fame and fortune. Gees Gord, I often enjoy your comments but I really wonder why your torture yourself by coming to this site... surely you have figured out by now that it's for people and by people that enjoy Celebes changing their styles (and I don't mean parting on the side vrs the middle) which usually involves CUTTING!
Hey, everyone's opinion is valid here. I think it's obvious by my own comments that I don't think that some celebs need to cut for cuttings sake. As a matter of fact, I would be happy if Cindy Crawford never cut her hair, but that's me. So, if you want to get right down to it neither side of this argument is correct because neither is addressing it from what is most flattering on the women as much as they are leaning toward their personal preferences for a particular length or style. I won't even get off on the tangent of some of the other posts that continually suggest the bob with the buzzed nape, a fashionable style around 1994. I'm not slighting your preferences (in fact, I think I've been pretty good lately about not coming down on some borderline fetish posts on here), but I do want you to think about your suggestions and try to back it up with some reason, instead of just hoping every model on the Fall runways will get bobs.
Oh, and one other quick thought: Modeling is a world of it's own. Models have very little control over their looks and are lucky when they strike upon one that places them in great demand. In many cases, when a model's career begins to wane, they will go with a drastic change of their looks, usually resulting in a major haircut or color change. Just goes with the territory and doesn't necessarily reflect a fashion trend in and of itself.
Just something to think about.

Hal, I agree I probably do torture myself, but I like to keep up with breaking hair news, even if my heart is broken in the meantime. We rarely talk about "how great so-and-so looks now that her hair has grown longer." Usually it's either someone got her hair cut or someone needs to get her haircut. It just gets frustrating as an obvious lover of long hair to see the trend (someone else's word, not mine) going shorter, apparently in part due to a magazine publisher (Vogue, right?) ordering models to cut their hair. I have appreciated a woman's long hair ever since I interviewed Debra Jo Fondren for my college newspaper and maybe even before that. No one will get me to change the way I feel, just as I will not make a shorthair lover change theirs. I just want a better understanding why someone thinks someone else SHOULD cut their hair when, in fact, some of the hairstyles are just much shorter versions of the original hairstyle: usually straight and hacked above the shoulders. So I guess I will continue to torture myself by visiting here as long as there is hope that I will some day read about a female celebrity who looks much better now that she has let her hair grow out -- and that she has no plans to cut it. Peace.

I hope you let me say that I'm very happy to see that she really went to a shorter style.
I don't know why we posters have to condemn the posts of each other. It would be very simple if everyone express their opinion without hurt anyone else.
Sorry Gord......guess I was a little hard on you! I'm not too sorry because I know you didn't take it personally. But heres more... how big is the news that Cindy Crawfords hair is 1/2 and inch longer than last month. As for myself am a fan of short hair, more than that I'm a fan of change! More on growing hair, I think Cameron Dias is looking great in the Charlie's Angels previews whit longer hair than she's had in a while, Katie Couric I think is still growing her hair and look stunning (as stunning as a cute person can). Julia Roberts I still growing her hair after what ever she did for her Mexican Pitt movie. Speaking of Julia... anyone notice that she gets her hair done once a year and never keeps up with a style..even if she does get a good one. And for that reason the longer the better on her.
Sorry, way to much rambling Hal

As with Hal I, too, am a fan of short hair and but change, but I'll throw gord a bone. I saw a documentary on Faith Hill the other night on VH1 and if she never cuts her hair short again that would be great. In my humble little opinion she looks better with longer hair. I think it suits her features better and it fits her image better too. Gord, your posts are always fun to read because for the most part they are in opposition to what's being reported on this page (long to short cuts etc...), but keep the coming because you make people think and explain!

Thanks Bob and, umm, whatever Hal. I agree with you on Faith Hill. Wish she never cut it to begin with. Funny how her latest success started about the same time she went with extensions. Just a coincidence? (LOL)
Has anyone seen Mira Sorvino lately? Her hair has grown to mid-back length and it looks spectacular. Hope I didn't jinx it.
Thank you very much Natasha. It's a very beautiful pic.
Almost nobody had answer yet: there's a trend about supermodels cutting their hair or it's only coincidence?
JF, maybe the career of Kate Moss was a little down but I think the same is not true for Carmen and Bridget. They are so much younger and still will have many years of modelling. To the models of their generation I think they are beginning a trend.
