Martina McBride (no news)

Since Martina's comeback to short hair about a year ago, her hair is progressively shorter and darker.

I don't remember, however, if someone told here about how WONDERFUL she is with the new look comparing to the old one. See:

Anyway, I think I don't waste my time and yours at all. The present pics are so better than the ones shown at that time.

Thanks for posting the photos to remind me of how great Martina looked with longer hair. I had a chance to meet her just before she chopped her hair off. A schedule conflict preventing me from making that meeting. She cut her hair a couple days later. Dang it.

The long hair is really awful, isn't it? *pokes it* The newer hair is lots cuter, though she needs to get it off the ears, whether cut off them or tucked back. I wanna see ears!

I have to agree Kuroneko lets see some ears!! Martina just gets cuter and cuter the shorter her hair gets.This is a nice start,but she needs to lose about another 75% of her current length,something like an alyssa milano crop with supershort babybangs would be hot!!Martina used to have very short hair and was addorable with that look.I am so happy that she came back to her senses and chopped that mess off and sent it to the garbage can where it belongs!!!

Hmmm, let's see if I can interject an opinion here that isn't completely slanted to a one-hairstyle-fits-all agenda (be it long or short)...

I first noticed Martina when everyone else did, after she intially cut her long hair short. Martina had beautiful long hair, but it didnt flatter her like the short style. Don't get me wrong, I love dark hair and blue eyes, but her eyes really got highlighted by the shorter 'do. Anyway, the style is what helped her and her music get noticed a bit more than it may have initially. Not saying that's fair, but I'm just glad it gave folks a reason to appreciate her tremendous talent sooner.

Anyway, Martina kept her trademark short style for years, growing it a bit, cutting it a bit before going really short with it about 3 years or so ago. It was, at that time, about Alyssa Milano short. And, it was also too short. Just not as flattering as the her previous fuller styles or the current one. Go Google search and you'll find some of those picks pretty easily.

So, then Martina took some time off to stay home with her kids and basically didn't cut her hair for about 2 1/2 years. Hence, the return of her long style. Again, as beautiful as her hair was, it just wasn't that flattering to her. Martina herself said that it was long simply because she didn't bother to cut it and told interviewers not to expect her to keep it. She is a short haired girl, she said, as evidenced by the fact she kept her other short style for many years. Thus, the inevitable cut.

There's your backstory. Now, as for this cut, I personally think it's even more flattering than her original short cuts. Great shape and flippy layers make it kinda funky, flirty, sexy and still really bring out those baby blues. I think she should stick with this for a while and she probably will.

And it doesn't need to be any shorter.

Her current cut is gorgeous, but from looking at her, I'd guess she's in her mid-30's. She's 37. Nothing wrong with looking hot for your age.

In the long-haired picture, she looks to be in her mid-20's. I knew she had long hair about two years ago, and was perplexed by this. Did she really look ten years younger with long hair? Turns out, she doesn't. That picture is from her 2001 Greatest Hits album and probably was taken in her early 20's.

Martina looks great with short hair and almost as good with long hair, but she looks around the same age with both.

I am NOT a country music fan -- but I've always lusted after Martina! I like the current cut and color. I like the COLOR the most.

I think the ideal would be this DARK with some highlights around the front, shoulder length, with choppy fringe ... and oh yea ... like JF said ... cut in some bangs.
