I just recently used Clairol Born Blonde(true blue) on my dark blonde hair. I left it on for almost and 1hr1/2 and it turned it this gross yellow orange color. I am practically broke and do not have the money to go to the salon. What can I do to fix this soon!!  I am trying to achieve a light champagne or ashy blonde kind or like Jessica Simpsons or Paris Hilton. Help me please

Will a regular store bought dye go over this, the package has a list of some recommended toners but I thought that was for people going from really dark hair to blonde.

I'm so sorry you had such horrible results.Paris and Jessica both got their results with tone on tone highlights.(where they slice in various shades of blondes). You wont be able to get that same look with just a single process color.I'd reccomend a good stylist to do this. But If your hair is naturally blonde like you say you should be able to do this with various shades of blonde.Even with blonde hair I would suggest a good toner too to help get out the brassiness.Just make sure you read the instructions very carefully.

P.S. you should never have to leave color on that long.I get my hair lightened and if I left the color on that long my hair would fall out.lol. You have to be very careful with lighteners.

Cheer up though your hair can still be easily fixed.I hope what I said helps.

Wow, that's an incredibly long time for somone with naturally blonde hair. I have medium brown hair and I can lighten it up alot in about 45 min. So, it seems something must have gone wrong. Definitely seek a pro for lightening like that. After an hour and a half of bleaching I'm sure your hair isn't too happy. I wish you luck with your color, I really hope you get the blonde you want.

You need to keep lifting your hair, even though you kept it on for 1 1/2 hours all bleaches die after 60 minutes and you probably didn't have enough developer volume to get you to where you needed to go. If you are a dark blonde level 6 you need to go to lightest blonde level 9, but you got stuck in level 7/8 outside of a banana yellow.

You can re apply the lightener + 20vol again and leave it on another 60 minutes and if it isn't up to the inside of a banana yellow then you'll need to just tone it where you have ended up. Because you can only apply lightener twice to the scalp without damage any more then that and you could risk damage to your hair or scalp.

The rinse shampoo & towel dry only -

Then apply Clairol's Born Blonde toner #356 Innocent Ivory.  You mix the packette of Balance Crystals with 2 1/2 to 3oz of the toner and left on for 30 minutes to towel dried hair.
