Okay I have a question for anyone who can answer.I just ordered some nice wawa from carol at vixenwigs.I am going to put it in with shrinkies and extendtubes.How long is it ok to wear your extensions without change.Or can you just replace them as you lose them.Does your hair need to take breaks in between,and if so for how long?

Well, I haven't been at it very long , only about six months, but generally I have been able to just replace the extensions on an as needed basis.
The WaWa I have in I have been wearing for about 5 weeks. It still looks good after I blow it out with a big round brush and warm blow dryer.
I still have some human mixed in that is about 8 weeks old, just wstarting to get split ends. And I put in Plastikhaar about 3 weeks ago........ Hope that helps !
In general, you'd want to leave extensions in for no more than 3
months. You may be able to reuse the hair, depending on the condition
it's in (although most people prefer to start fresh at that point), but
either way, you need to redo them because the
bonds/shrinkies/braids/whatever will be so far from the root that
they'll need to be replaced futher back toward your scalp. Some people
like to redo them more frequently, and some may be able to drag it out
an extra month, but 3 months is the general rule.
Saucy makes a good point, though--during that three-month period, you
can replace them as needed, if you have slippage or need to tweak a
certain section.
Hair (both human and synthetic) will last a fairly long time, but it
can start looking crappy really quickly. Some people have used
synthetic for second installations (so more than 3 months), but that's
unusual, imo. As far as human, most brands won't be in good condition
after 3 months, but it all depends on the quality of the hair and how
you treat it. The darker colors, imo, tend to last a lot longer than
the lighter ones.

Ditto everything Jenny said. I personally can usually make it about 2.5 months before needing a redo. Sometimes a week or two longer sometimes less. I think it just depends on how fast a persons hair grows and how hard you are on the extensions themselves. Right now my crrent extensions are at 9 weeks and the bonds are fine, but my growth is really out there and in need of redo-ing! And once they get so far from the scalp you risk causing more damage if you dont get them redone. My human extensions are at 9 weeks wear and I have about 30 wawa/shrinkie tips that are at 5 weeks wear. The hair looks pretty good still. I abuse the crap out of my hair. I wash, blowdry and curl daily. I wore my hair straight today for the first time in months and I think the hair looked smoother and better straight at this point.

Thanks to all of you.That told me exactly what I wanted to know.I'll keep this all in mind when I actually put my extensions in(or when my husband puts them in,lol).
