Hi there guys, its four weeks now since I installed my bohyme hair extensions with shrinkies and extentubes.  What I want your advice on is that I've noticed that a couple of the extentubes have slipped about an inch.  Am I ok to just leave them as there is still enough of my own hair in them or do you think I should do myself a maintenance already xxxx Don't want to ruin what little hair I have.  Tell you something.  I'm glad I installed extensions before my wedding before like Kristen, because of the sun and a bad bleach experience last year the whole top section of my hair has broken off to about 2 1/2 inches long yikes xxx

Hmm...that seems like quite a bit of slippage for four weeks. Are they coming out at all or just slipping down a little?

Anyway, I would think you'd want to do a maintenance fairly soon, but it doesn't sound like a crisis situation. Maybe you can replace them in shifts--like 30 one week, 30 the next, and so forth. How many did you install in total?

In general, how have the shinkies held in your hair compared to the extendtubes?

:)

Yeah I've had some that slipped on me before.  If the tips are too big they are more prone to slipping.  So I'd open and move up the slipping ones.  But if you think that you have slightlylarger tips in those you might want to switch to bigger tubes or smaller tips on those....

How many are slipping?

Hi there guys, thanks for your help.

Jenny - I've had about 12 shrinkies come out and 1 extentube in 4 weeks.  I did cut the shrinkies in half though and I did wash my hair everyday for 2 weeks whilst I was on holiday.  There are only about 5 in total that have slipped, all the others are perfect.  I got my hubby to check to see if there was still plenty of hair in the ones that have slipped and he said yes.  He said that its only the first row that have slipped so maybe its something to do with me brushing.  I put in about 10 of Kristen's fusion glue extensions just in the sides and they are holding up brill too.  I love the rings though.  I wish they weren't so detectable in the sides of my hair.

Mocha - I made all my tips exactly the same size and they are really tiny as I have really fine hair.  About 5 have slipped xxx

Hey Amanda, maybe your slippage is a result of all that hot, passionate swimming you guys did on the honeymooon?? lol

Aren't ring a joy becasue they are so easy?

Five slipping an inch when you've been honeymoonin' isn't exactly crazy to me.  Undoubtedly salt and conditioner and untethered hair have contributed.  But they stayed put overall on your honeymooon so no complaining right?

I think it's not unreasonable to open them slightly move them up clamp them down again, and repeat every couple of weeks on the slipping ones.

some people use the same rings over like t his for tighten ups unil the ring just dies.  Not me mind you.  but moving it once for slippage I've had no trouble with.

That's unfortunate about the 12 shrinkies.

I have a lot in a pile to reinstall when my life slows down a bit.  But I think you porbably have the technique down infinitely better than I do.

:)

Yeah I absolutely love the extentubes.  I think I'm just going to move the few up that have slipped then rather than doing a whole maintenance, thanks for the advice Mocha x
