FinaFina, can you give us an update on how your PH is holding up? Im curious how you are doing with it. Your hair and the way you style is very similar to my own.
I also wanted to bump up the 'boinks' illustration. It would be nice to put that in a demo 'sticky'. I have a question about the boinks. How do you start them? Do you use a rubberband and start with a ponytail? Or do you just leave the hair loose and start twisting? It seems like I cant get the twisted length of hair to wrap around itself without it all falling out before I can get a scrunchy wrapped around it?
Well, that's one way to do it; some people prefer a low, loose braid,
so it really depends. Either way, you don't want to sleep without it
tied up or tied back--that's a tangling disaster waiting to happen.
You'll probably find the braids a bit tight at first (especially since
you've never had extensions before), so it'll probably be easier at
first to sleep with it in one low bun or one low braid. They loosen up
significantly after a few days, and then you can play around and see
how the hair responds when you sleep with it in different ways. Good
luck! :)

I think "boinks" is just something I must've made up or something, but
it's basically just coiling and twisting up
your hair into a bun and covering it with a schrungi while you sleep (a
low braid is another option, as it creates a slightly different wave).
But instead of
doing one bun for your whole head, you'd do 4 or 6, whatever--the more
boinks
you do, the wavier the results.
Here's a visual (btw, I stole these pics and cropped them--they're
actually from a very good tutorial from superstardreads.com about how
to put on drawstring falls).
Step 1: Twist a section of the hair:
Step 2: Wrap it around itself in a coiled bun:
Step 3 (not shown): Cover each little bun with a scrunchi:

Thanks Kristin. THANK YOU also for your little secret on cutting the
hair off the weft in the right length. The Bohyme pieces that I did
look GREAT around my face because I didn't have to cut them!!!!!!!!
I'm doing an install for a friend this weekend and I'm using your
method! What I'm going to do is pretip the hair in different lengths
(depending on which row it will go in). . .
Syren, as for you. . .I see that all that radiation has not affected your sick & twisted brain!! LOL
I broke down and washed it this morning. (It was 5 days since I washed
my own hair, 4 days since the install. . . which is an eternity for me).
I removed 4 of the braids in the very front -- they showed too much
even though they were tiny (mainly because of my coloring, not the
braids per se). I put a few Bohyme strands in their place.
After washing, I just dried my bangs (it took all of 45 seconds), and simply let it dry. It totally ROCKS!!
I've been sleeping in "Boinks" (or at least my version of them, where I
look like Princess Leia on acid) and that works SO MUCH BETTER than
braids. The hair just falls so nicely and I don't do a thing with it!!
I think I can go another 4-5 days without washing. . .I'm starting to
really dig this low-maintenance, Boinked-at-night routine!!
Fina Fina, I just loooooove your hair and the style too! I just got a email from Sara saying my hair is in so hopefully it won't take too long to ship to NJ. I am so excited to try this PH out .
