QuoteReplyTopic: Texturizer to Relaxed hair Posted: June 05 2005 at 9:32pm
I have relaxed hair and I plan to get a texturizer in august and the lenght of my hair is like a little above the shoulder. How will the texturizer do my hair? like after the texturizer will i ever have to get another relaxer? How will my hair be?
Wow, If I were you I wouldn't do that AT ALL!!!
First of all the texturizer wouldn't take to your hair anyway, seeing
that you are previously relaxed. To be completely honest (and I don't
mean to scare you) your hair would probably fall out. It is not a good
idea to change brands of relaxers, let alone switch whole chemicals!!
To get a texturizer, you would have to grow all of your relaxed hair
out and cut it off (meaning start over). I know this isn't what
you wanted to hear at all but I just wanted to save you from making one
of the biggest hair mistakes of your life.
......so seductive......

Texturizers are the same as relaxers except that you leave it on the hair shaft for a shorter time. Also...u would have to basically transition. Meaning grow out your hair and trim or cut off your relaxed hair as you go along. Only the new growth can be texturized.
No texturizers do not make hair more curly than it started out. It loosens the curl pattern that was there previously.

I think I know what you thought...lately or recently stylists on these make over show uses the term to "texturize" which usually means to give someone with straight hair waves or curls. But in this discussion we are talking about a chemical process for curled/kinky hair to loosen the pattern. I understand where you are coming from.
