QuoteReplyTopic: Weft install Posted: August 18 2005 at 1:48pm
Hi, I finally got my LG(after lots of Bi***ing) and installed my virgin indian wefts (no, not rk hair). I was going to try the "sandwich" method, but just decied to do a "regular" bonding just incase I didn't like how it looked, and if I had any trouble putting it into a ponytail.
Anyways, I love it!! A lot less time consuming to put in, but the LG is a B***H to work with!!! Here are the pics, I just but some curl enhancing goop in, and scrunch dried, and wa la!!

It looks great and very natural! I also wanted to say a huge thank you for showing the front, it seems alot of people here only show the back and to me it is very important to see how well the sides and front blend.
I think you will be very happy with this and will eventually do the sandwich technique for maximum hold. I agree that LG can be the biggest biotch to work with but it incredible stuff if used right.
Wow chick, that looks fantastic, why don't you now sandwich it now you know it looks so good. Come on then let us know how many packs of hair you used, positioning and how many cut up wefts, inches etc, or was it just the same as Sherrie x Brilliant chick x
It's hard to say how many packs I used because when I bought this hair it was sold as "samples" in 20 inch long wefts, and I bought 5 of them. I only used a little over 2 of the wefts. I have 6 rows, and only the top 2 wrap around to the sides. so they look like an inverted triangle.
I want to wait and see how this hair wears before I go all the way and sandwich it. I have heard such bad things about the RK hair, and although this is not RK, it is indian and I did have to bleach and then re-deposit color to match my own.
I wish that I knew how to upload my pics better, so that you can see how well it really blends. I am pretty impressed, myself. I did do alot of razoring through out, because my natural hair is just above shoulder length.
So, has anyone tried putting LG into a small squeeze bottle and use it that way to apply? I started thinking of that halfway through, as I was getting major stringy's. I think that I will pick up one and try it. I did keep the LG in a bowl of hot water and that did help some, as long as I kept changing the water and keeping it HOT!
Anyways, I'm going to go play with my new fullness and curls.

That looks fantastic! Very natural, I never would have guessed they were extensions.
It's funny you should mention putting LG in a squeeze bottle. I was daydreaming of my next install (seems I'm always dreaming of hair now) and I thought the same exact thing. I plan on doing the bonded wefts and thought LG would be much easier to work with if you could just squeeze out a nice line onto a weft. I'm going to try it.

I bought it off of Ebay, about 2 months ago. I'll let everyone know how it wears, if it wears good, I will probably buy more as I got it pretty cheap!!!

It does look fantastic gsmile...and it looks so natural, I would have never guessed extensions. AMAZING job girl!
Oh, remember Im a LG bonding queen... LOL...Of course Ive tried the little squeeze bottle, and unfortunately it does NOT work. Too much air gets to the LG and it thickens super fast, besides the tip getting plugged up. It just dont work! Yes squeezing it out of a bottle in a nice line sounds wonderful, but it aint gonna happen!

Ok, LG queen, what is the trick then??? I found putting it onto the weft was easy, but applying it to my hair without getting any strays was hard. That brush just SUCKS!!! I think that I am ready to sandwich a couple of the tracks just to see how that goes, but I'm scared of all the messy strings!!!

LOL gsmile...yes it is tricky! I think its nearly impossible to not get a few strays. But my personal favorite thing is TONS of little clips. I clip the heck out of all the hair so I keep as many strays/flyaways clipped down tight. (The cute little clips, you know the ones that you bend them back and they snap shut and bend them forward and they snap open) and they hold the hair really tight. I also pull the completed rows into a low tight pony tail to keep it pulled tight before adding all the clips!

besides gsmile, if you have already done the bonded track its not much more glue at all to sandwich it. a little tab pulled over each side and a little LG on the top of the track and your done girl...you can do it!
Honestly Im curious to see how long my bonds will last without the sandwiching. This install I only sandwiched the top row for the purpose of making it undetectable...Ill be curious to see how the unsandwiched bonds last vs. the sandwiched bonds

I have had so many people that have seen this install, that this is the best one yet. They cannot see where my hair ends and the extensions start. I wear a ponytail almost everyday, and when I used shrinkies they could see the bonds on the sides no matter how much I tried to cover them up, I just couldn't get them all. With the weft bonding, you can't even see the weft, and I didn't even sandwich anything yet. I am very happy with these right now. Hopefully the hair will hold up and the bonds won't come undone for a while!!
Thank you Sherrie for all your secrets, I used tons of clips and I even used a little water on the hair above the row to keep the strays at bay.
