Hi all --
I have had extensions twice now -- both times were those bonded types (Hair Connect done in London). The problem is that I don't like to blow dry my hair often, and with the bonds, they tell you to dry hair completely right away, because dampness starts to degrade the bonds. Well, after a couple of weeks my bonds start getting sticky, turning whitish and I lose a few, and it gets worse as time goes on. I was considering trying something like shrinkies, thinking that because there is no glue, I can leave my hair to air dry. Does that sound right? Any help will be appreciated!
I would say you really need to get at least the roots dry with shrinkies/ shrink links. As you guys know I use the professional shrinkie system, and Mark Barrington most defininetly stresses in his class it's important to get at least the root area dry immediately if you want to get the maximum longevity out of the installation.
I instruct all my clients to dry at least the roots immediately. You don't want any water to seep into the shrinkie, it will losen up much quicker and slip out. I have had clients who weren't drying right away and were losing pieces, and then with this small change in routine, they didn't lose as many pieces.
You can take or leave this advice, but as a professional who has used the shrink link system, this is what I advise my clients.
The Connect people have really stressed that I need to get the root area dry (same as what metalgirl said about shrinkies) -- so I wonder why your fusion (Amanda) didn't give you any problems -- maybe it's me? I am wondering if it might be because I have an oily scalp, and really washing every other day is pushing it for me -- but that is what I do when I have extensions. I am really trying to find a way to have them where I can wash my hair often, and let it dry naturally without making the bonds (whether shrinkies or fusion) weaker so that I lose extensions because of it. There probably isn't a way to do extensions that will allow this (and still last until they need to come out)...?

I see you know where to find all of the good hair and supplies. Do you know where I can get the ring-x hair from at a way cheaper price. I know I will need about 200+ pieces to do a full head and at $20.00 for ten they are out of their natural minds. Any suggestions? I know I'm way off the topic. Sorry
