Unfortunately there are many extensionists out there who are happy to make a quick dollar, but don't realize this 'art' is very time consuming. Sometimes removals are slow going, and you must have the patience and use great care to ensure the safety of the client's hair.
I have talked to many stylists who say they want to do extensions... until they see me do a difficult removal that takes hours.
well, she told me they applied a secret remover(Acetone) crushed the bonds with a plier, then started rippeing them out. She said the stylist said, oh, you had some breakage!
she told her this was hurting and they said, well this is how we remove them! OMG- i tell ya, i was sick from this, my heart hurts for her . And mind you, this was 3 weeks regrowth!!!
Great Lengths is cracking down on these stylists. I just went to a refresher in NYC and our teacher has told us that Brett, one of the heads, gets xx of complaint calls daily.
GL rules are now strict b/c there have been many stylists who abuse the GL system. One of the rules consist of suspending the stylist's or salon's account if they have not ordered for a long time. It is true that many stylists use the Great Lengths machine but apply another type of pre-bonded hair. Removal of GL requires the GL solution only. In addition, refreshers are recommended often to keep up with the system.
Sand, I am so sorry to see that. I hope your client will send an anonymous letter to the Great Lengths headquarters and REPORT that salon.
If anyone reading has their heart set on Great Lengths, just to be sure call the headquarters and find out to see if the stylist you are considering has a VALID GREAT LENGTHS ACCOUNT.
Great Lengths just like HairLocs are not bad methods, it is the stylists who make it a bad method.
its a shame because Extensions has gotten very popular and there are alot of stylist seeing green instead of integrity when it comes to doing the method properly and carefully!

Unbelievable. That poor girl. She may not be the type to sue, but surely she could at least try to negotiate a refund. She should DEMAND one. I think the stylist owes her a lot more, but at the very least, she shouldn't have had to pay for this! Man, thank heavens she found you. You're her Santa this Christmas!
Oh my god! My eyes are tearing up just seeing the pictures! I would be
devastated, I just don't understand how someone could do that to another
person in good concience.
What method did you use to make her look so good in the after pictures?
Sorry if you've said but I didn't see it in any of the other posts, you did a
fabulous job!
