I don't know if any of you have heard of lace front wigs yet, but apparently they are what most of the famous women wear now like Beyonce b/c it's the most natural looking thing available.  They attach with an adhesive around the front, but they say that you can swim in them and wash them in the shower too.

Has anyone on this forum tried a lace front wig?  If so, did you like it?  Is it really like they say b/c I have trouble believing that it really looks natural.  But, they say it looks like the hair line b/c of the fine lace on the front.

Also, this company http://www.beauty.eurydicecompany.com seems to have good overall pricing compared to the others I've seen like $900 or $1000.  Has anyone bought from them yet?  If so, how was the product?  How long did it take to get your wig?

search lace front wigs and you'll find a bunch of info.  Also go to the blackhair media board and there is loads of info there.  I wasted my money on customlacefrontwigs the wig and hair is great but my own hair wouldn't lie flat enough underneath, it itched, and I always felt like I was wearing a wig!  My hubby hated it but was nice enough not to say so! I went back to extensions and now have a $625 wig that I will NEVER USE AGAIN!  The glue doesn't stay, it leaves glue lines and so your forhead looks like it's got glue all over it.  You can't let anybody touch your hair or run their fingers through your hair because it just doesn't feel right!  I would definitely avoid this unless you are a star and have many people around you making sure it looks right!

Thanks for your reply Jodicline.  Just curious what nationality are you and what is your hair texture?  I am African American.

I have been to the Black Hair Media forum and it's very slow loading on my computer and I have dsl at home and at work.  The forum also won't let me log in or reply or post.  It seems to have some good info, but I honestly hate using it.

It seems odd that you couln't get your hair to lie flat enough and lace fronts are so popular with African American women and they have the thickest hair.  The pages I did get to on that forum (Black Hair Media) say that the lace fronts look really natural and the glue does stick.  What brand of glue did you use?

I am a white/indian mix girl!  I think my hair could have been flatter if I would have gotten corn rows but I just wanted to wear it right away and tried to pin it down!  My biggest complaint was the part didn't look like a scalp, it looked like netting and the hair felt good but if anybody wanted to touch my head I would jerk away like I was shot!  Just didn't feel right!  I teach school and wore it one day and girls noticed I had done something different, I normally wore extensions, and they looked closely and one girl exclaimed, WHAT DID YOU DO?    Slightly, no extremely embarrassing, LOL!  I am sure they have the possibility of looking good and real, I used mighty tighty, it did look good, it just felt wrong.  Good luck though!

I think that to get any wig to look real, it needs to be custom made where a mold is taken (or measurements) of the person's head.

Mine was custom made and cost me a pretty penny and it did look good it just felt weird at the scalp.  I also think that if it would have been a little thicker it would have been better!  I had the light to medium density which just wasn't thick enough to look like my hair!

I just recently placed my first order to have a custom unit made after of hours of research on BHM. A number of ladies on that site have purchased and posted pictures of their units and after trial and error of using different adhesives. I know that the site is slow but believe me it's worth the information. The only thing I see vaulable on that site is "measurements" which they took from another site. Unless your going to have a swiss illusion lace front you should not spend $ 700 on a unit.

That's very expensive for a lace front! They are called "systems" and cover the top part of your head and the custom ones I have worn do not feel like I have anything. I hairdresser I know previously worked for Hair Club for Men and ventured out on her own and has a booming business. They last about six weeks before you have to go back and they really feel light as a feather. She charges about $70 to install, remove, wash, cut the system. Cheap! I don't know where she gets them but they are high quality. The last price I remember was about $1,000 for two. She doesn't have a website but she's in Massachusetts and the name of her place is The Hair Circuit. It's located in Canton. They do measure your head for a perfect fit! They are great if you are light on the top. I wear them and have extensions on the bottom part of my hair and sides. The best of both worlds! I don't know what adhesive they use, but I've never seen another one like it, and I've tried plenty! A hurricaine couldn't blow it off! The only drawback with them is that when they thin out you have to send them back so they can add more hair so you have to always have two in possession. I've been doing my own but they aren't half as good as the Hair Circuits! Where are you located? If I can help you, let me know.

I know the site is a pain in the a$$ to load, but they've got great info on this topic there.. Those ladies are truly the L/F experts.. Keep e-mailing the admin to approve your login account.. (They are notoriously SLOW on approving new accounts) That's what I did.. It took about 1 week.. I think they are worried about internet scammers and spammers on that forum so they are a little (too much perhaps??) cautious..
