QuoteReplyTopic: defining the cesar Posted: January 25 2006 at 8:31pm
Sup fam,
I just got my haircut this evening after growing for like 3 1/2 weeks. I told my barber to cut me real dark and thick with no scalp showing (dark cesar). But in all actuality, the clean cut part of me wanted to get like my neck and sides taped. Would that be going against the definition of a cesar? I know some barbers tend to get carried away and taper you up WAY too high and cut into your pattern and what not. Then some barbers are cool with it and can still manage to give you a clean cut look without interrupting your pattern. My problem is, with the cost of haircuts and my work schedule.... cesars dont last long enough for me. But I like having my stuff thick. Anyone else faced with this dilemma? What is your definition of a cesar? Tape or NO taper?

When Barbers do that its time to find a new barber cause one time i
went to a new barber and i said even all around with a taper on back
and sides he gave me a bald fade it took fo ever to get my waves on the
back and on the sides back
Taper or no taper say get a taper in the back and tell him to not go past your pattern in the back
its still a dark ceasar if you get the right amount tapered. if its any more than that... its a bald fade. <----- thas what keeps happening to my friend's hair.
as far as ur delima, id say invest in ur own pair of clippers. start cutting ur own hair. that way, you can cut it when you want and its FREE. is easy to give urself an even cut. ull have to practice on the taper though.

I think I might start cutting my own hair. Im not real good at the lineups to get my stuff real crispy though. But between me and wifey I think I can come up with something. *shrugz*
^im sure you can, and if you cant, you can always go to the barber shop for one until you try it on ur own and get it right. a line-up is gonna be way less than the cut itself that you can basically do urself.

To get my line up real crispy i use those blades you see in the beauty supply for eyebrows they usually only 99cent. I do most of the work with the clippers but to get real close and clean I use that, its also good for that new growth.

i cut mine my self and go to the barber to let them tape it. if you cut it your self your can cut it a high cesar then if its too high u use a smaller guard or adjust the clippers.
