    Posted: March 20 2006 at 9:43pm
Hey everyone,

Amanda had mentioned this method on one of the other threads. Can someone break it down for me? I believe I saw a weaving tutorial in which the reverse method was being used, but I'm not sure if that was it now, or if what I saw would work with glue or Protac.

Can someone explain it or direct me to a post that does? Am I correct that this method would be helpful for concealing the wefts at the top of the head, where the hair is shorter?

Jenny I believe with the reverse method, the weft is applied upside down then the hair is flipped back over the track and glued. I am not sure the exact process. But thats how I think its done?

Im interested in exactly how this method works too!

the reverse method is good for using aroudn the part area. You sew (or glue) the weft in laying opposite the way you want it to be, and once it's attached , u flip it over. Poster- Essence3 has pix in her fotki, and i think she's posted the link somewehres' on the board w/ password.

yep - go to the BHM board and do a search if you don't see essence's fotki here .... her pics were extremely helpful to me.

i agree koffee the reverse is best on the top/crown around the part so that the hair flops over the weft line and all you see is hair.

imagine how you would position the top weft on the right side of your part - how it would lkely be parallel to the part with the weft showing on top and the hair flowing down. basically, you flip the hair up so that the other side of the weft is touching the scalp and the hair is pointing up towards the sky...glue, sew, or whatever that side of the weft to the hairline and let the hair flop back down so that it covers the weft line. when i've done this before with LG i would glue the hair down over the weft line also to keep it from moving.

make sense? lol. pics are better than explanations i think.

jenny i am eagerly awaiting new install pics, ahem...yeah!

sounds like a great idea for the part area for people with fine hair.

I have a few questions though...when you flip the hair back over the weft and glue it down would you have a ridge? And would those short hairs(the beard) be a problem with sticking up?

And I wonder how well the glue would hold the hair down, since your forcing the hair to go in the opposite direction?

Ohhh....Im feeeeeling another experiment coming on!

Excellent. I think it was those Fotki shots I saw, and the results were amazing. Hers was a weave, but hopefully it would yield the same amazing results with glue.

Thanks everyone!

yes it works the same w/ glue. I use that method all time when i used to do LG off track bonding. It makes it look like hair is coming UP out of the scalp. It gives same effect if u use a hand tied weft. U don't have a 'ridge", because the weft band is sitting "perpendicular" (sort of) to your  head. The bearded wefts don't work as well unless u have thick hair to cover the short hairs, or leve much more of your hair out to cover. Even then, i dont think it would look as nice as hand tied. But i've never tried w/ beards..

i agree koffee - i don't recall any "beard" issues lol, i've never noticed a ridge sherrie, but i forgot to mention the other thing you can do is a modification of your sandwich technique and after doing the reverse bond taking a thin layer above the weft and sandwiching it.

it may work with protac except...follow me here lol...one side of the weft tape is attached to your head/part line hair..the other sticky side would be grabbing the weft hair flopping over. if you want a fine layer of your own hair to cover the weft hair you'd need another layer of glue or protac to tack your hair down. i know a few ladies on here are only using protac on one side on the top layers b/c it's shiny...so that might work anyway.

i think it's one of those things just to experiment with to see how it will look. maybe tack it with bobbie pins to get the idea and see how the weft looks flipped over.

the tape works w/ the reverse method. Only problem is that if you have dark hair, u can see the tape unless your hair is thick. Sometimes u can use some Toppik or something to shake over and 'color' over the shiny tape. I have done this before in a pinch
