Making your own weft?

I recently bought a big bag of 'falls', or loose hair that's held together with a rubber band. I was planning on buying hair with wefts, but the beauty shoppe didn't have 'em. :(

So that leads me to the question, is there a way you can make your OWN wefts for loose hair? I remember seeing a link or tutorial about it, but I haven't seen it since. Can someone send me a link and help a girl with serious hair problems out? I want hair extensions! Hehe, thanks!
