Fineese273, you need to get rid of the brush, I was also big on brushing constantly my hair NEVER grew because it was breaking like crazy yet I always needed a relaxer after a few weeks, so my hair was definitely growing but I couldn't retain length. Once you quit brushing you'll retain length as long as you keep the moisture going. I've seen people braid their hair at one inch but if you want to grow it some more before that's up to you, I love braids by the way it took my hair from nothing to something, that's all good but healthy hair really starts from within so drink lots of water, massage your scalp daily and take a good multi-vitamin that's always a good way to start.

Like the others said, stop brushing so much because it's too much manipulation for your hair. Also, the carrot oil isn't providing your hair with any moisture, which it needs. Oils don't provide moisture....they only seal it in so first you need to apply a good creamy water based moisturizer (preferably free from mineral oil or petroleum) and then put a little oil on top of that to seal it in. This will keep your hair well moisturized and less prone to break.

Would you mind posting some water based cream moisturizers.
I would love to know them too.
Thanks
Cantu- I really like this one and would recommend.
Neutrogena Triple Moisture- haven't used this one but it gets good reviews.
Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil Creme
These can all be found at Wal-Mart or any drugstore.
I use moisturizers from Qhemetbiologics.com. The Amla and Olive heavy cream is my favorite moisturizer. These products are made from natural ingredients and don't have bad ingred's in them. HTH

You might want to try the powdered msm product. It's basically methyl-sulfonyl-methane it's been proven that it aides in hair growth and also it is good if you have joint problems. You can purchase it at any of the vitamin stores you might even find it at wholefoods. Other things you can do is message your scalp twice a day, to increase blood flow and indirectly help with hair growth. Use essential oil mists, like rosemary and lavender which also is proven to aide in hair growth. Good luck!

Tie up my sleeves with ribbons rare,
And lace my bodice blue.
