So I got some Chrissy V glue to try and it is not holding in my hair at all... not even slightly. I used it according to the directions on the back of the bottle, and using a hairdryer to set it, and it slides right out with a slight tug, I wouldn't even be able to brush the hair... it would come right out!
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Does this glue have a really long drying time?
I'm irritated! Thats an expensive bottle of glue! grr.

Dunebug...thats odd but I did experience a problem one time with CV...try letting the glue sit at room temp for awhile, sometimes straight out of the fridge its too thin, and soaks into the weft too much. Usually chrissyv sets reasonably quick and holds very well...so Im not sure other than the glue possibly being too cold. Besides that Im sure you know all the normal stuff like washing just before install, no conditioner...etc...

Hmm... I just picked it up from the UPS and its super duper runny. I wonder if I refrigerate it and then let it go back to room temp if that will change the consistency. It did seem very liquidly, its about the consistency of mik or maybe cream right now.

My experience with Chrissy V was that you have to keep it cool, which makes it more thick. Then you have to use a lot of the glue and sandwich more hair over the weft with more glue. It is messy as all get-out to use and the smell will give you a nasty headache if you use it a lot. For me it turned white after a few days and looked like a bad scalp condition, but it did hold okay. I prefer LG/Protac, for ease of application, appearance, and length of wear.
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

oh wow....chrissyv glue must have changed its ingredients/consistancy since I used it...its been several years. It used to be in a tin can, which its now in a plastic bottle correct? And you had to take it out of the fridge and let it warm up a bit to thicken up a little before using. It worked better warmed than cold. And NEVER EVER did any color (other than the clear) turn any color other than its original color....Hmmm

Yes, it is now in the plastic bottle.... I dont know, even if I can get it to go on thicker I cant see it holding because the residue that was left in my hair after the wefts slid out jut brushed right out with a comb... it just didn't adhere to the hair at all.
Wierd, I wonder if I got a bad bottle, I've messaged them to see what their return policy is :(

Ifit seems runny, shake the bottle up.  Put wefts in and press on them a good 5 mintues, and then don't touch them again for another 15 minutes or  so.  The glue takes a full 24 hours to fully cure.

I shook it really well before using it, and waited half an hour before tugging on it... I will try one more time and do a test piece and try to not touch it for 24 hours and see what happens...

jeepgirl, you definitely dont want to put your LG in the fridge. Its a different type of glue than CV, and doesnt require refrigeration. Some people actually suggest warming LG up in the microwave or hot water to use it.

Hi Dunebug:

I too tried the Chrissy V glue with the exact results that you had.  I emailed Chrissy and she was too short and hateful.  She said I was not using the product correctly and cut me off right away.  So, she was rude and I am stuck with a $50 bottle of wishful perfect hair.  Again.  Oh well, just hope this saves others some serious dough.

1.  Runny product, no matter what you do to it.
2.  Smells great if you are a whiffer.
3.  Leaves chunks of white flakey pie crust in your hair.
4.  Might catch on fire if you keep that ole blow drier going.
5.  Slides out if you lay in the sun.  (shouldn't be doing it anyway so there!).
6.  Ask for a refund and Chrissy V will treat you like the poor white trash you are.

Maybe we could tell her to check out this thread- At least she will read the mean things we say about her  product  behind her back because she won't let us say them to her face--er I mean email.  Oh=maybe she's too busy working on Michael Jackson's  weave or some other rich and famous persons do!! So sorry to hear...when I first started using CV (way back in the day) I would email CV with questions or if I had a problem. She was super fast to answer and always friendly...even gave me her telephone # to call her on the phone to talk to her personally. I talked to her on the phone a couple of times.

I do use LG, but I can only get about 3 weeks out of it... and it also breaks up and looks like a scalp condition after a couple of weeks in my hair so I was hoping the ChrissyV would perform better for me. But sadly not.
P.S. Still no reply from the venerable Miss Chrissy V.

Are these the only hair bonding glues out there? Surely somebody has to have something that would work better.... atleast not dry out and get white and flakey.... and not harden up as fast a LG.
Oh Hair Goddess above..... we pray that you give us what we want and need for our hair.......GLUE....GOOD GLUE.....AMEN!!
and oh.... if you have time..... tangle free.... long silky.... cheap hair.
Hey I figured if we were gonna wish ....we should wish big!
Thanks,
JeepGirl
