Heard Today that actress Diane Lane is suppose to get a haircut on the Today Show tomorrow (7-13-06). Don't know if this is another ratings deal like with Ann or not. I`m not even sure how long Diane's hair really is. Just heard about it today. Have to tune in and see.

For those of us that have to work tomorrow and will miss the event, can someone put the video on here so we can all view it later? Someone did the same for Ann Curry's haircut and I was able to save and view it the next day. P-l-e-a-s-e !!!
Thanks in advance.

I don't back down from anything I wrote in March. And at the risk of repeating myself, is there no female celebrity out there who gets a haircut in private without having to receive praise from the media for a good deed? Gawd, this is so self-serving. What's next? Will they bring Katic Couric back with her scissors to get the party started?
Almost every celebrity gets their hair cut in private. In fact, besides Ann Curry, Jann Carl, and Diane, I can't think of another celebrity who has gotten their hair cut in public. Considering that there are thousands of celebrities and celebrities probably go to a stylist a couple of times a month, the percentage who have made their cuts public is fairly small.
This isn't self-serving. In fact, it's the opposite. It's serving the charity. Any celebrity who doesn't seek publicity for their favorite charity is doing that charity a disservice. Do you think Brad Pitt thought twice about appearing on the cover of "Newsweek" to talk about his charity work? Of course not. He wants to encourage other people to do charity work.

There are bunches of celebrities getting their hair cut in public for various reasons. One of these night time entertainment show hosts recently cut hers for Locks of Love, Lisa Ling had hers cut on The View (and then was really sorry I think), Cathy Lee Gifford had hers cut once and then had the video posted on the internet even though she claims to want no publicity. I heard something about Kelly Rippa's haircut but I don't know that she actually had it cut on the show--just talked about it and solicited advice about styles.
I think cutting it publically for charity is a wonderful thing to do. Those who do it are caring and noble, unlike say Victoria Beckham who has to spend lots of money jetting back to her extension technician when a newspaper photo shows the damage her fake (meaning not hers, I know it is real hair) hair is inflicting.

Well the haircut was just - eehh. Nothing spectacular by any means. It doesn't look bad, doesn't look great. I was disappointed - wanted something different. She is a beautiful lady and has nice hair. I guess I am tired of the angled bob (or whatever you call it) that everyone seems to have. Not much styling by the (so called) stylist.

Didn't you recently state Katie Couric didn't rise to the top until she grew out her hair? If thats true, as I'm sure you beleive it is,isn't that use of her hair self-serving? Or is it only self serving when they cut it?
As for her style, it was pretty flat and boring. Center part cut just below her chin in the front and just below her ear lobs in the back. Thankfully, as beautiful as she is, her hair is almost an after thought.
Diane is one of those chicks that gets like a yearly hair cut. No trims in between, no reshaping . If you look back at her hair history its pretty much either long or in the process of growing out something. I'm betting she will grow it for the 12 to 18 months with no changes in between.

In my opinion, the end style was completely disappointing. I mean, it looks exactly like what it is -- the neatened ends left after having her ponytail cut off. What styling is involved in that? Very plain... no bite to it.

Thanks to HAWG for posting the video link. I've watched it several times. Diane IS a pretty lady, despite a so-so new style. Interesting though, watching Ann Curry HACK through Dianes ponytail. Geez !!
