I think that I'll disagree just because I can. I might not be right, but that's ok. It won't be the first time I'm wrong but here is my opinion.
The company that makes the blue strips with holes that we all know and love sells it in their catalog as "Extendabond Tape" "the original strip with holes." The salesperson told me that they previously called it Protac tape but had to change the name. I didn't ask why.
I have also bought the tape in rolls from them which they told me was the exact same tape. They have that listed as "Pro-Flex ll"
They call their red tape in little rolls Sensi-Tak which is made by 3M.
Hairdirect who sells the strips and does not manufacture them, calls the blue strips with holes ProFlex.
So now I'm wondering who calls it protac other than us? Mabey I'm confused now.
Pro-Tac, protac, pro-flex, opti-flex, euro-flex, extend a bond, air hole tape, Ive seen all of these names used to describe the double sided extended wear tape with the air holes and blue backing. If you purchase the 3/4' wide by 12' inch long strips that say they hold 3-6 weeks, and have the blue on one side white split backing on the other side, then its most likely the same tape. By whatever name its called....yes a bit confusing!
