From my understanding, it's something really difficult, that you need special machines for it.

Or, I think you can take it over to EP and they can weft it for you...

I learned how to make hand tied wefts in a wig making class I recently took.  It's very easy.  You would need weave poles.  I bought some from HisandHer.com.

If you are interested, I can email you the hand out I got in class that shows you the very easy steps of making hand tied wefts.

That's interesting. How long do you think it takes to weave 4oz on a handtied?

Probably with practice, maybe  2-5 hours.

I do a lot of craft projects, beading and such, so weaving the wefts was like a craft project to me and it was very relaxing!

I'm intrigued! I'm going to order one today. I take it weaving thread is the only other thing needed (besides the hair)?

It's at this link for anyone else interested

Metalgirl:

I do not know if you are overwhelmed with requests now, but I would really be interested in trying this as well. Would you please email or PM me the hand-out sheet you offered?

THANK YOU!!!

I'll email the handout to whoever is interested.  This weekend, I'll type up a little tutorial, since there are a few pointers to add to the handout.

AMM- you need loose hair, upholstry thread, scissors, 2 weave poles

After you make your first weft you can email me if you have any questions. I've been making hand tied wefts from virgin Russian/European hair for over 6 years. Maybe I can help.

I've seen that tutorial at mhrw and it is pretty much the same except my class taught a 'special' starting and ending knot to make the weft more secure.
