QuoteReplyTopic: How to "pick out" hair? Posted: April 12 2001 at 10:35pm
I`ve read a few of Karen`s articles and noticed that she often "picks out" her hair after blotting it with a twol. What exactly does this process mean and how do you do it?
I`m a newbie when it comes to hair care. Any help will be appreciated!
thanks, Nic

This usually refers to curly or ringlet styles in which you gently lift and separate the curls with a pick comb or your fingers. DO NOT BRUSH. For wavy styles with loose curls you may brush lightly with a styling brush or pick comb using short, lifting strokes - just enough to relax the style. For long curly styles use your fingers or a pick comb to gently lift and separate the curls. DO NOT BRUSH. For straight styles brush in long, even, gentle strokes from the crown to the ends for a smooth, sleek look. Detangle first by starting at the ends and gently work your way to the roots. Happy styling!
