What is fusion hair method? What is the difference between cold and hot fusion? Also will this method damage my own hair??? How long do they last usually

I'm thinking about jumping on this fusion bandwagon as well.  I figure I want to do something fun for myself now.  I've been doing some research on getting a fusion, and I think I want to go to the most extreme length out there just for fun.  I'm due to go home in the summer for a week with my boyfriend for him to meet my dad.  I always find it amusing when my ad freaks out about th length of my hair!! The problem is i have no idea where to get the hair, and who to get it done from here in Memphis.  What's the longest length you can get?  What's the going rate? I hear it lasts up to 3 months, is that true? Does fusion break out your hair at all? And does anyone here know of any hair dressers here in Memphis that can do a fusion weave? Tongue
