you should use a razor like a mach 3 to line up your hair the machine lines will not be as fresh as the razor. but i use the machine on my face to trim up my beard because i do not get razor bumps with the machine but use the razor on for head and cheek areas and the machine for below the chin.
another tip which i learned the hard way is: dont try to cut where your crown is that much, just barely trim it down. i messed up and it looked like i had a bald spot back there( like rasheed wallace).

i wont be wolfin for a period of 6 weeks bcause of Phys ed sweat f's up the waves and we cant wear rags or caps so i'll be cuttin my hair every 2 weeks.and that could help improve my barber skills so the most important thing to remember is to make sure ur hair is dry with no grease, water none of that ish hair should b nice n dry 4 the cut also dont directly start cutting your hair with the guard u want work ur way down to the desired guard so there is no slip ups. but n e wayur cut look good

alright just did the cut. used a 1/8" guard with the blade pulled back to add an extra 1/8" with the grain cut. washed and shampooed and pink lotion added. lost my right side when i cut it, but hopefully it should come back in a day or two.
i know the neck line looks pretty messy, cause i haven't reached to the barber yet, or gotten the courage to start messing with it!
you should use a razor like a mach 3 to line up your hair the machine lines will not be as fresh as the razor. but i use the machine on my face to trim up my beard because i do not get razor bumps with the machine but use the razor on for head and cheek areas and the machine for below the chin.
i wash my hair to get all the loose hairs outta my head... just depends sum are afraid that ull lose waves after you wash... but once i brush for 10 mins they come right back
aight just finished the cut, will post pics later. but just wanna know whats up with this not washing your hair stuff? does that mean no shampoo? can i wash the loose hair out in the shower? or just brush it out?

I been cuttin since foreva and still do. I like #3ATG, keeps everythin even/clean. (MY wave DONT disappear or nethin) Umm takes me 15 min. tops to cut my hair. I just don't get lined up, cuz i don't know how.
I cut my own hair i used to get a cut every week some times twice a week at 10 a cut i gotta be fresh as much as possible so getting a trimmer was a good investment plus my ex was a beautician so i got some good tips. but anyway u gotta use the 1/8 guard and use the side nobe all the way back so u can have a better cut for your waves and like LDIZL said cut in the directions of your waves good luck homie
hold the clippers steady when u give urself a edge up dont go side to side ..start where u want ur line the bring the clippers down .....when u get to ur curve us the edge of the clippers............
but i can only tell u so much
learning how to cutt is all about f**k ups.....as u keep cuttin ur hair u will learn more and more..........

start practicing by just trimming... dont try to get an actual cut w/ a taper or nuthin lol... but yea start small and see if cutting your own hair is really for u.
