Hi Everyone,

Im looking at getting hair extensions and i went for a consultation at Advanced Hair in Adelaide yesterday and wanna know if anyone has has them done there or heard from someone what these extension are like??? Ive never had extension so im all new to this. The specialist made them sounds great that they'll last up to 12 to 18months they dont get ratty at the ends and that models and exotic dancers go there to get them done. The hair is linked to yours with these little tubes called flash points.
I was quoted $1100 for 100 pieces

If anyone has offer me some advice to these it would be great Embarrassed

I have never heard of the "flash point" technique, but any extensions that is supposed to stay in your hair up to 18 months sounds very suspicious to me.
Your natural hair grows so no matter which technique you use, you kind of have to re-do every 3 months at the maximum, at least for all the techniques I have heard of. Maybe this is a new one?...
Maybe the stylist meant that the hair used can be re-used and last up to 18 months, even that is pretty good!

www.hairpiece.com  calls their shoelace tip hair 'Flash Point'.  Maybe that's what she's referring to.

Yes sorry thats what i meant it can be re used for up to 18 months but yes every 4-6 wks i'll have to get them moved up which will cost $70 per hour and apparently it will only take 1 hour.

I am a bit worried as this organization specializes in baldness treatment but its hard to find a decent place in Adelaide for hair extensions as i definitely don't want glue or weave bonding

Flashpoint is basically mirco-links. The price they quoted you is a complete and total rip off.

My advice would be buy some tipped hair (about $100.00 per 100) buy some mirco links ($15.00 max! silicone is nicer) and multi-loading threader for the beads, find a tutorial (there are many around) and grab a friend to help you with the back, and save over $1,000.

Well, yeah, if it's micro links, this price might be a little crazy.

For that amount of $$ I'd rather try to do it myself and buy hair that I know is of great quality (like Bohyme), but it's just me!
I remember in France I tried to have extensions done by a salon, prices were just outrageous. They were doing the fusion method, with keratin and probably good quality hair, but the whole thing was like several thousands euros. Between 1500 euros and 5000.
I bought a fusion kit in a specialised store, some keratin glue, and crappy hair, and I learnt to do it myself. For like a hundred euros.
Now I do Protac + Liquid Gold and use Bohyme hair, and my hair has never been as pretty

No extentions last for 18months.  They all do get ratty eventually- it happens no matter how well you take care of them, they break down from wear adn tear.

I completely agree, you're not gonna want that hair on your head for 12 months.  You need to also see if you like the feel of the micro links.   I agree with frenchie.  I always think Protac is always your first choice to see if it works the stuff is awesome, just doesn't work for me.  Maybe a combo kit & try several install methods, read as much as you can on this board about the different methods.

I'm an LG girl myself.  the ease and the comfort plus looks great.
