Hi,

I want to dye my hair red for Saint Patrick's day, but I only want to have my hair red for a few days. Are there any products available that last no more than a week?

Also, I have highlighted hair, and I would prefer if the product I use to temporarily dye my hair red does not wreck my highlights.

Thanks!
Britt

You can go to a beauty supply store (like Sally's) and ask them.  They sould be able to tell you what would work best and wash out quickly, and if it will harm your highlights.  I know that temporary dyes usually stain light colored hair.

As hairbraider said, semi perm color will "stain" or deposit color into hair and eventually fade away.  This means it will deposit color into the hair which is highlighted even more so because the hair is already more porous than the rest of your hair as it has been chemically treated.  If you color your hair with semi perm color you should get some interesting colors (especially in the highlighted sections) which won't fade out for a couple of weeks.

A beauty supply store (or check online) may have something which may fade out very quickly (which isn't really hair color - I've heard of people using things like Jello) but I would be careful.
