Wow i just wanna tell you how well my hair turned out this time. I got about an 2inchs off. It is much healthier. I think the highlighted grow out part is almost all off! Its amazing! I can let it air dry now! It goes pretty straight(and not frizzy) Icant believe it! After a year of having to bd it eveyday. The color is also better she put the dye on the regrowth then combed some more dye in after and left it onfor 5 minutes. Its way better. Iget trims every month. I cant believe this time made that huge a differnce. I didnt realise how much the highlights ruined my hair! never again.... thanks people

your hair would probably get really dry- much dryer than it was before you started dying it. if you do decide to re-die it (against my judgement, but its your hair) make sure to buy moisturizing conditioner and use it EVERY day! just be careful, and don`t make any drastic decisions, listening to what your hairdresser says.

thanks, but I have a couple more questions. So what would happen if I tryed to go lighter without stripping it. I dont understand how people(like movie stars) go so many different colors and not wreck there hair. All I want is a shade or two lighter and it all be the same color. I just cant believe its so much work to get that. What about sun in? Would that be really bad? Thanks for the imput. I just want to know my options before I go to my hd again.
you say your hair is already dry to begin with. I really don`t suggest doing something that will dry it out further. Your stylist is right--you would have to strip, and that would be drying. Maybe you should ask her if you can dye your entire head a different color. If you do strip and redye, make sure you use lots of moisturizing conditioner, get trims every month (dry hair is very prone to split ends--I know cuz my hair`s dry and wavy too), and try to be really careful with your hair. No blowdrying, brushing in a hurry so you tear it, etc etc. You might want to get it done in cornrows or something to keep it safe from damage
Ok that dosent really help. I cannot live with the tacky roots and wait for it to grow out for 2years. If I could I would. Anyways so does anyone else have a suggestion. Its not going to fall out from touching up the roots I know that much but why live with somthingyou dont like. I know lots of people that go from platinum blond-brown-black-blond again. And it dosent seem to effect there hair. Why can I simply get all my hair the same color without stripping it.What if I get him to put the same dye on my whole head, butmoisterize it better this time? I dont know, anymore suggestions anyone? Thanks for trying to help
I would leave your hair alone for awhile. Keep conditioning it and get it back in good health. Otherwise your just going to keep damaging it and have dead hair. Yes, your roots will show for awhile.. but its better than having dead hair that falls out in clumps and breaks off just from running your fingers through it.
So is my hairdresser right? Is there no way to get it all one lighter color other then stripping it? I have to go get my roots done every month for $60.00. Its seems ridiculous because its only the top part that is really light. Is there no other way around it? I have to go again soon so I need some help! Thanks for replying

this might have happened because your hair was not moisturized enough, so select a color conditioner- L`Oreal makes good ones for color-treated hair. It can be very damaging and drying to strip your hair of its color and then re-die it again: it can become even more dry, which may result in the same problem. I would use the conditioner, and wait a bit.

I have thick wavy(dry!) hair just past my shoulders. Before I got it colored at a hs 3 months ago, it was med brown with blond highlights growing out halfway. I said I wanted it a dark blondish color. The dye worked on the top part of my hair, but the bottom is still the same. Its kind of an ugly color. Like a caramel. But I think its stupid to go and get my roots done because its like Im getting blond roots while the rest is like brown. It sord of blends in, but its not what I want. I want it all one color and maby lighter. the hairdresser says you cannot put color over colo,r so I would have to strip it to do this. Would that be alot of damage? Could somebody explain to me what I should do and how much damage is involved? Thanks
