QuoteReplyTopic: New Extensions-HELP Posted: September 24 2007 at 8:15am
I had sew in extensions done 10 days ago. I love the look it gave me, but I'm already miserable with them.
1. Every time I brush my hair, I have a mass of hair in my brush.
2. They already look split ended.
3. I pull my hair back in a loose ponytail to get it out of my face when I get home and the rubber band or scrunchie leaves a horrible dent in my hair that I can't get rid of.
Any advice? I love the look, but hate what its done overall.

Hi. What method do you have, sew-ins? Where did you get the hair? What brand, type of hair is it? You may not be able to keep this install.
1. If it's wefts you maybe able to salvage some of them. You can remove them and if there isn't too much hair loss from the wefts you can seal them with weft sealer and have them reinstalled.
2. They already look split-ended, if you want to keep the hair in, cut of the split ends and deep condition and moisturize it.
3. For the dents from the bands, flat iron it.

The shedding might stop if you just installed the hair. Sometimes when you get your tracks put in, the wefts need to be cut. I'm guessing, hoping, they were machine wefts? Even when you cut the machine weft it will shed at the end until it hits the next knot.
Hello, Yes I would also like to know what type of hair you had installed. 1. This should not be happening. The hair should only shed a small amount. The wefts are either weak or were not cut correctly. If they were hand-tied wefts, they should not have been cut at all during the install. Machine wefts can be cut without problems if it is a well sewn weft. 2. This indicates that the quality of the hair may not be very good. Did your stylist mention if it was Remy human hair? Or did you get it yourself and take it to the salon? 3. Yes- flat ironing will help this problem. This happens to me every time I put my hair in a ponytail regardless of whether I am wearing hair extensions or not. If you can give us a little more info, perhaps we can help you save this install or, at least, have a better experience next time.
what method did you get, fusion? Milky Way is an inexpensive brand. It's not going to last long. We can't help you unless you tell us how this was put in.

Tree braids? Call her and ask. You can post pics of your install too so we can get a better idea of what's going on. Did you let her know you were losing hair? I'm sure she can remedy it.
