What is your ultimate hair goal? Have you changed you mind about long hair? Do you think you'll grow your hair longer than you first intended goal?

MY mother bids me bind my hair
With bands of rosy hue,
Tie up my sleeves with ribbons rare,

My ultimate hair goal is waist length stretched. However, I would love to see my hair waiste length shrunken, that would be some serious hair growth.
 
My goal might change, you never know.

My ultimate goal is thick, full, and even mid-back length. I have no idea what my length is now since I've been in braids for so long, but will be finding out soon. I'm thinking the back of my hair is APL.

I just got my hair cut yesterday, and I noted a signficant difference.  When I took my braids out two months ago, I finally permed my hair 3 weeks ago.  Howerver, the perm didn't take, so my friend permed it last night.  I see red spots in my hair so I know that my hair has suffered some trauma of being overprocessed.  I am feeling so sad about the cut, I just wanted the ends cut a little so that I can retain some length.
 
Right now my hair goal, is that it reaches shoulder lenght.  My side were already short, but now they are even more shorter not to mention I cannot put my hair in a pony b/c the sides come out after this cut.  I would like to get some tips on reestablish my previous lenght and reach my goal of having 10 inch length hair.  Help me out with some advice someone please! 
 
Ultimately, I would like my hair to be BSL.

The back bottom layer of my hair is now touching the top of my bra but its straggly so I still want the length to be thick, mid-length unstretched and waistlength stretched. :-)

maybe the relaxer didn't take because coarse hair requires more than 18 minutes to straighten [the relaxer claims coarse hair straightens in 18 minutes,coarse hair straightens in 25 minutes and the hair must be smoothed] and coarse hair requires more than 7.5 oz of relaxer,my hairdresser uses a bigger jar of relaxer.I don't want long hair.

I have reached my hair goal of a little longer than apl. At first I wanted waist length hair but as my hair began to grow, I kept cutting it because it was getting too long for me to handle alone and I don't go to beauty salons. Helathy APL hair looks better on me and I really like my  hair layered so i'm cutting more layers in my hair soon. I just can't keep the shears out of my hair.

Sometimes my goal is bsl and other times (when my hair is getting on my nerves) I just want APL. But my goal is bsl so (with patience) that's what I plan to achieve. Anything longer will be too much work on my part.
