QuoteReplyTopic: I need advice from the pros Posted: October 11 2007 at 6:10pm
Hello....my name is Linny. I am new here, and I know there are a lot of experienced ladies here who can give me advice(hopefully)
So, here goes....I recently purchased u tip extensions off e bay. It was my first time putting them in myself. A trial run, if you will. After the application....I realized the error of my ways in the install. How the placement could be better...smaller bonds, switching to a non sulfate shampoo etc. I vowed to take them out....retip them and reinstall them better. They looked great, but I new I could do a better job. When I took them out, I was rushing a bit, and def lost quite a bit of hair on the way. My hair was fairly thick before...only once dyed and healthy. It doesn't seem to bad now, but I saw so much hair come off with the extensions that I am worried to reinstall them.
My hair right now is about 5 inches on top and layered 2-4 in back. Sorta, like the new Paris Hilton cut...a bit shorter.
Do you think it's ok to reinstall? Providing I do a more careful take down next time?
don't threaten me with a good time

If you have enough glue on the tip of each extension then you won't have a problem reinstalling them. I'm not sure why you lost so much hair when you removed. How long were they in before you took them out?
I find it really hard to install individuals on myself. I tried that when I first started with extensions and gave up. It's too much maintaince and application is too time consuming, etc. I would recommend the weft / tape method if you're going to do it yourself. Otherwise try a sew in method.

Hey! Thanks for the compliment on my name! Thanks for taking time to answer my question also.
I still have some glue but it seems sort of smooshy and maybe not enough. I didn't lose too much of the extensions hair but I lost a bit of my own.
I had them in for about 3 weeks I would say? So I assume some of the hair on the glue tips were normal shedding hairs. I did get antsy in a few spots and definitely ripped some strands from my head...boy that hurt!!
I was originally going to do a weft but my hair is short and thought fusions would cover better. Fusion is really time consuming, though! It's very hard to do the back of your head.
I would love to try a sew in full weave...I was watching Top Model and they look so gorgeous on those girls!!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Happy weekend!
