Well, there are three "So Cap" companies; So Cap, So Cap original, and Euro So Cap.  I have not been able to find anyone that can give any definitive answer on if or how exactly the companies are related.  I believe someone here recently posted that they thought Euro So Cap was higher quality than the others.

I have had two So Cap installs.  The first was a disaster due to stylist error and damaged my hair.  The second was installed properly, but, I really think the hair is just medicore.  It is not "bad" hair, but, honestly I think even Bohyme is far better quality.

So Cap is simply another method of fusion.  I would probably never use it again even if it were more affordable.  I have seen and used other hair that is just much better quality, IMO, especially for the price.  In fact, even the old D-Lux Hair from Your Hair Shop performed better for me than So Cap.

well....I have now worn, shrink links, hairlocs, Great lengths and Euro socap. I hated the hair from eurosocap. Their bond is similar to that of great lengths and holds a little harder so that it is more difficult to remove and you will get some damage. Socap USA has much better hair quality and also the "flat wraps" so that if you don't like the rolled bonds of the GReat lengths and regular socap extensions, you can have flat ones that feel and mimic the look of the hairlocs. The EURO socap hair I had tangled really bad and I had to carry a brush with me at all times to detangle it and make it look less wormy. Socap used to be one company and then split into two. Socap USA has better hair quality and is much better than the EURO version. Hope that helps.

There are two So Cap companies in the US.  So Cap and So Cap original.  They even have different websites and slightly different logos.  Which one did you use that you liked?

On my second So Cap install, the bonds were strong, but, the hair was mediocre at best.  Sounds like your experience with the Euro line.  I had tangling from day one.  I am using cheaper brands now and have had minimal to no tangling at all.

I have heard that the hair that Euro So Cap use is excellent and it is European hair. I have also heard that Euro So Cap lasts longer than other techniques and is easy to maintain. I have read this is a few posts on here hmmm... Not surw which technique is best now.. I'm trying to research to find out which type of hair extensions are least damaging and best quality hair.

Hi Dana....I tried the SOCAP.USA version that was decent. I still think that the GL hair and other hair out there is better quality. I also was not crazy about the bonds....it was nice that they didn't fall out but when it came to removal, they were not as easy to remove as the GL. Also, their hair is cheaper for the stylist to buy. I did not like socap Europe at all. Their hair "sucked". It was super tangly. I found better hair at Sally beauty supply. I had them removed after 6 weeks of wear since they were just too much hassle to maintain.

Hey Sofia... Wow, that sounds like my second install.  I wonder if it was the Euro So Cap that the stylist used on mine too.  It is really hard for me to decide yet on the hair quality.  I had significant tangling and had mine in about the same length of time as you.  I also had the same difficult removal.

Anyway, as far as the hair quality, I just haven't used enough hair yet to say as affirmatively as you that it sucked...LOL.. I am still saying "mediocre".  I will say that my Bohyme is at least triple the quality and even the D-Lux was much better quality. Considering both are far cheaper than So Cap, that does say something I guess.

Well, some of the other ladies here are far more experiences than I. I am using a combination of tape/liquid gold, and attaching some wefts with microlinks. Bohyme is just what I am using right now. There are several good quality hair brands that a do-it-yourself can use.

My opinion is that lines like Great Lengths and So Cap are a lot of "hype" that comes from the manufacturer. They are not significantly better than some of the lines private individuals can buy. I am not sure about whether So Cap sells their fusion bonds to private individuals. They may very well in New Zealand, but, I don't think they do here in the States.

As for euosocap, socap and original socap, the damage to your hair is the same, they are fusion.

It only depends on the skills of the extension artist.

As I mentioned before, you will need the remover from there brand.

I like the remover from eurosocap, because it turns the bonds into powder, is not greasy nor leave the hair wet.

You can replace the extensions immediately, without shampooing the hair first.

Because the bonds are not flexible, the can be itchy to a sensitive skin the first days.

On the other site, the bonds are greath and never slip out. You can dye the hair, without avoiding the bonds.

You have to go back to the extension artist every month to maintain them. They detangle the bonds, cut the hair that has natural shed in the bond,… If necessary they will replace some extensions.

In my opinion a quality hair should last about one year, that’s 2 full installs.

In my personal opinion, I prefer eurosocap especially in light colours.

The dark colours can be permed before an install.

For the dark colours, they are abouth simular. check if they are single or double drawn.

As for tangling,  Use the products from the brand. Or the products that they advise. That goes for every brand.

A lot of extentions are dyed with products for fabrics (textiles).

If you don’t have the intention to go for a maintaines every month, go for more flexible bonds, and cheaper hair. Taking them down every 3 months, throw them away and yet new ones.

As for the story’s of the china hair, It’s good for thick hair. OK it tangles after a while, because the silicone coat disappears after some shampooing, just recoat it with silicon.

In most cases I use china hair in the neck part, because it’s stronger an has more body.

Some Indian hair has a silicone coat too. It depends on the brand.

So is eurosocap the best? It depends on what you want, the texture and quality of your hair, double drawn in the neckpart, single drawn on top,…

If you want an experiment, use different brands in one install, so you can compare them.

I do have to say that I don’t have any experience with D-Lux or Bohyme, so I can’t compare them, so no offence.

Sorry, still learning English

Thanks for the information, Ikki. That being said, my experiences with So Cap have been far from glowing. I am not going to recount the whole experience, but, the first stylist was a complete idiot with zero customer service skills. She dyed the hair twice immediately after the install, cut the hair wet, and the cut was horrible (mullet). That installed caused significant damage to my hair. I don't hold So Cap responsible for a poor stylist though.

The second install was installed properly, the cut was much better, and I followed the care instructions to the letter. The hair quality was not good, IMO. I had tangling (and I mean significant tangling) from the first wash.

This was my second fusion install, but, I have dealt with Remy hair before in lace wigs and had only very minimal tangling. The hair I got from a Chinese vendor was better than the So Cap. Towards the end of the install, I added some D-Lux hair and had no problems with it at all. Up against the So Cap hair it looked like a Mercedes parked next to Go-Cart.

I don't know if the problem here is with the stylist training for So Cap, with the distributor, or what, but, I will never use it again.

Ok....I just want to chime in here about hair quality. The best hair is the one that matches YOUR OWN hair and texture. For some, that is Indian hair, for others it is Russian Hair, or Italian Hair or in some cases Chinese Hair. There is no "hair" type that is the best. For me, the one that works best is Indian Remy Hair. Russian hair is just too silky and shiny for me. Please keep this in mind when you decide where to buy your hair and do reviews as not all hair works for everyone. The one that is best is one that works for you. If you perm/process/ or change your extensions, they will tangle more as that would happen to your own hair if you did that to it. If you order curly hair, it will tangle more than straight.....that is the nature of human hair. That said, there are good quality manufacturers and bad. My own experience with SOCAP Europe hair may not be the same for someone else. I had the standard wavy installed and it required constant brushing.

I agree with you, Sofia. Matching texture is important. There is good quality hair out there in almost any texture. My second install with So Cap was not chemically treated in any way after receiving it from So Cap. The stylist installed it as it came and it was their straight texture.

I am sure that occasionally quality varies within the same brand even. My experience was similar to yours in that the hair required constant brushing. Whenever I was home, I would leave it braided in ponytails or it would become a rat's nest.

So Cap to me is a good hairline.  I hate GL- horrible.  Had a bad result from them and the money spent was a waste of time.  I am gettin SO Cap done again on the 14th.

leducred....what happened with GL? was it the hair or the application that didn't work for you? Also- what is it that you liked about socap? Did you do the bonds or the flat wraps?
