Can you help a frizzy-haired girl?

My hair is so FRIZZY!! It drives me crazy. It`s also raining and the humidity is incredible down here in Texas. Plus last night, my friend put in this goopy creamy wax stuff that will not come out! It`s really strong. I washed my hair with L`Oreal FreshVive 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and there`s still left-over gunk. I put in a lot of powder in too, to absorb the greasiness and that helped. I cant wait to wash my hair again tomorrow. But my overall hair is FRIZZY! Has anyone used a HAI ceramic iron before??
