QuoteReplyTopic: you are a role model Dave Posted: June 21 2003 at 3:09pm
Dave, For us guys who are trying to grow our hair very long, what we need sometimes is to have a role model. For me, ever since I joined the Long Hair Support board of Hairboutique.com, you have become "my" role model Dave. I'm determine to let my hair grow as long as yours in spite of all the work it will require for maintaining such a long mane. For what I read or hear on this board, I understand that your hair is down to your khees. Seeing that I have never seen any pictures of you and your hair, would it be asking too much of you Dave if you could post a few pictures of your hair down or in braids? We, guys, need all the encouragement we can get and I do believe that by seeing a few pictures of your beautiful long hair, it will give us some incentives to keep growing our hair very long Thanks Dave Gilles
Dave - you are a role model to me as well, even tho' I am a gal (and no way near as beautiful as you).
Grenwich is my lady role model .
I think it's wonderful how the both of you are here to inspire us and encourage us with your brilliant examples and your wise words.
Thank you .
And Dave, if you are going to post more pics () can you please issue a "Hottie Alert" so that those of us who are weak to your charms can be sure to sit down before perusing your gorgeousness. I don't want to faint...again .
Not to detract from discussing our dear mod's total hotness, but I would be completely remiss if I didn't say that that little quote absolutely MADE MY DAY!
Thank you dear Uzi, I only hope to live up to expectations! LOL

Yeah, an extensive 10-photo gallery of Dave Decker himself. guys, girls, we all want to see.
Oh, just give us a benchmark on your height and dimensions, it's nice to see a pic, but there's a difference between someone with knee-length at 5'1" and someone at knee length at 6'7" ..... Just so I can have a good extrapolation of "teh future"
Hold a ruler or yardstick :P
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.

You have already exceeded expectations. I have learned a lot from you. Most significantly, the importance of patience, keeping the spirit alive and the ancestors smiling .
Dave
If you do succumb to the pressure to post some photos for your admirers, I have another small request. Could you wear something plaid in one of the shots......pretty please........
LOL - I would love to see Dave's face when he opens up this thread and reads all these posts. Bet he blushes from roots to tips!!
Oh yeah...there are a few pics of the illustrious Dave in the main articles page. He has written a some wonderful articles and there are pictures included in some.

It makes me wonder if it's a kilt thing, hee, hee. I saw a group of bagpipers walking in a local parade, and I had no idea how good a kilt looks on the right guy...

I would make a terrible fire-fighter. Rule #1: show up early and ASAP to quell the fire before it gets big. I disappear for the weekend and look what happens!
You all are just too kind.
I find myself laughing... abs hurt... must stop laughing...
Lest this "plaid" discussion get out of hand... I emphasize that I do not wear plaid. I can only advise: be careful the newspaper photos of professional golfers that you send to Karen. I do hope you recover from your plaid malaise promptly, Uzma.
I will consider posting a new photo somewhere... maybe here? I wonder if catt_grrl might allow me to post one that she took?
Jacqui, you are correct about two photos of me here. Most of you have seen them already. For those who haven't...
dave you look ALOT like this guy i had a MAJOR crush on before i met my beloved huband. his name is andy. he is a exotic dancer. he used to model. he was in playgirl a couple times he was my date to a jewel concert.
OMG! It's Lorelei and Spook! Very well done on the icon, catt_grrl!
Thank you so much for the permission to post the photo! I was thinking of the one that you said you showed your colleague... (arguably the most flattering pic)...
And thank you too, Jean, for your compliment on my hair. Would you believe that someone (last Friday) suggested a charity donation? For the life of me I don't know why some people are so rude. They don't beg owners of expensive cars to give them to charity... but wait, the owners of those expensive cars would be themselves!

Dave, didn't we experience plenty of rain to manage the "fires" last weekend? ;-)
Your links are not working (at least chez moi). But when accessing thru TLHS, they do show up. Everyone can try this link and then search by your given photo numbers: ftp://ftp.tlhs.org/week/ For some odd reason that's the only way these pix can be seen here.
Also, you're welcome to use the two pix I took of ya the other day, if you like. I especially like the computer pic.

"The half-submerged fire hydrant we saw last weekend was especially poignant. Thankfully the monsoons have gone away! Really! I kid you not!"
Right, uh huh, and my hair will suddenly speed up growing to my ankles, too. The whole world is just telling tales when they say it's always sunny where you live. I smell conspiracy... hee hee. Next time, order some sunshine, k?
We never discussed LoL, and we never measured our hair last weekend! What the heck did we do?? (Went creek-walking...) LOL, at least the rope braid I put in your hair looked great until late in the afternoon. :-)
