Yep, that's what I do, I oil my hair more in the winter using either jojoba or a mix of shea butter and jojoba.

Well I'm not having this problem right now as it's just getting into the boiling, stinking hot season here in Australia......but.....

have you tried oiling?  Do some heavy oiling treatments at night (over night) and then do some light leave-in oil treatments during the day.  Other than that....what Anais said :)

Here's what I do...

  • Get a humidifier and stay hydrated
  • Use extra conditioner, or add a conditioning step
  • Wear your hair in contained styles, to prevent wind from putting massive tangles in your hair
  • Put your hair into a hat when you go outdoors. I do this to prevent my hair from literally FREEZING in below-zero weather.
  • ....therefore do not go outside with wet hair if it gets very cold where you are.

Stay warm!

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone goes to special lenghts to protect their hair in the colder months?  I never really did anything special in the past, but since I have had damage from highlights last month and my hair is not healthy like it was before, I want to do what ever I can to protect it.  I have read that hair can suffer damage in the colder months because the cold air outside and the dry heat inside your home can dry and damage your hair because the fluctuation in temperatures.  What can I do to prevent further damage caused by the elements??

Thanks!
