looks like you putting the pomade wen your hair is dry to me but my advice wen you put pomade it jus glides over the hair on top and the rest underneath try and curl bak like in ur pic so get a hard brush and brush that moisturizer(carrot creme is best) to your scalp so that wen you apply the pomade it would hold easier.

Putting loads of poamde won't help tho but instead applying the pomade at the right time when it's not too wet and not too dry and you kno every inch of your hair is soft cuz of the moisturizer  would do well and with a lil bit of jam smooth over after you've addded the pomade for them tiny bits that try  to stick up  you should be set.
