We still use moisturizers and pomades but just not every time we brush...me personally i only put in products @ night or after I was my hair at the end of the week...I dont have to put in products tha often cuz my hair stay moisturize for days. Dry brushin some what helps with spacing out your waves a lil bit...and just overall improvement atleast for me it did/does...brushin while hair is wet or while puttin products in just makes my hair curl up.
